no guarantee we have scored but that CS looms larger after the jays put up a 2=spot.

FB way up and away, taken ball 1 Slider hangs outside at the top 2-0 FB almost down the middle at 91, but Schneider misses it somehow, 2-1 Slider way outside, 3-1 FB with a bit of cutting action below and inside middle gets a swing and miss, 3-2 FB in the middle just above the knees, gets a swing and a miss, K, inning over.
Jays hit Cortes hard, all four batted balls between 96 and 107, get two runs, and lead 2-0, going top 2nd.
Torres, Wells and LeMahieu for the Yanks in the 2nd.

springer doubles off the wall. surprised grisham didn't get it. nestor has nothing He needed to be two inches taller. Judge might have caught that… no disrespect to Trent. He can’t grow taller… 🤓

Nice recovery by Volpe. I was surprised they got the out… Me too, Inger. I guess it was because Turner was the batter-runner. I don't think they get anyone else in the lineup for the Jays.

no guarantee we have scored but that CS looms larger after the jays put up a 2=spot. Watching the replay, I couldn’t tell safe or out. The overturn wasn’t justified in my opinion…

Greetings, teammates. This will be my last game live for a little while, heading off for a family trip to Asia for a couple weeks, so I'll be scarce. Let's get another one before I take off. Hey Donnie -- Bon Voyage. Asia takes in a lot of turf. I'm a certified travel addict, so if it’s not too intrusive could you tell us where in Asia you're headed?

Bassitt back out there for the 2nd. Torres fouls off a 1st pitch sinker near middle, 0-1 Sinker near the corner away, no call. Marginal, 1% on Gameday, I think. Change above middle, Torres somehow late and under, pops to Springer in short right, 1 down.

Volpe needs to come forward and use two hands on those slow rollers, a la Derek Jeter. Jeter made that play as well as anyone, and with two hands he was able to corral the ball more securely then exchange from the glove to the throwing hand quickly, eliminating any transfer problems.

Wells swings under a cutter in the middle near the top, 0-1 Slow slider on the outer 3rd, late and under, fouled off. The more I watch Wells, the more I think he's going to have to make swing adjustments like Volpe, if he can. Slow curve below middle, pulled to right, but the fliner hangs up for Springer, who runs it to catch, 2 down.

LeMahieu takes a sinker outside, 1-0 Takes a sinker low just outside middle, 2-0 Cutter 3-4 inches outside, 3-0 on DJ Tries to back the sinker over the outside, but still misses by 2-3 inches, ball 4.

Sinker well outside by 3 inches, but Kirk yanks it back to the corner and steals a bad call, 0-1. 0% on Gameday and not close. Splitter well low, 1-1 Sinker just off the plate outside, swing forced by the first call, rolls over on it back to Bassitt, who fields and flips to 1st to end the inning.
Bottom 2, 2-0 Jays. 13 pitches in the 2nd, and 26 through 2 for Bassitt. 7-8-9 for the Jays: Kirk, Clement and Kiermaier.

Still observing Bassitt. He looks like he wants to go to sleep. I guess that just the way he rolls, but I don’t recall it from the past…Him and Higashioka could be good friends…
