Volpe takes a sinker inside, ball 1 FB into the zone up and away, taken, 2-0 Takes a splitter low near the corner away, 2-1 Maybe someone on the bench told him to stop chaisng everything Gausman throws. Takes a splitter diving down and in, 3-1 Beats him clean on a FB inside corner above the waist, big swing, looking for extra bases, and missed under. 3-2 FB inside corner waist high, Volpe with a more controlled swing spoils Volpe gets a FB just outside middle, and misses it clean for the K and a hat trick. 1 down. He’s the biggest problem on the team. I’ve never hated watching a player more. Ok, he's struggling now, I get it, but he's far from the biggest problem on the team. Getting Rodon and Gil fixed are much more important.

I had no idea you were such a riceist… Nah, I love all kinds of rice, there's nothing to grain by being a riceist. Do you own or ever bet on the ricehorses?..,

I've lost my YES cast. Will do PBP from Gameday for now. And it's back. Keirmaier falls behind 1-2, then rolls over on a FB near middle, Rice flips to Hill covering, inning over. Top 8, 8-1 Yanks Soto, Judge and Verdugo for the Yanks in the 8th.

Good job by False Flag! Reminds me a little of early Ian Hamilton...

None of those guys are going anywhere this season. Has Posadafan sneaked back in here? Maybe, but the hatred for Volpe is somewhat out of proportion.

Chad Green in to get some work for the Jays. Soto takes a FB outside middle, 0-1 Takes another for a strike down and in. 0-2 Then takes his timeout. FB knee high outside middle at 96, hit the left of Green, hits the mound, caroms to Falefa, who throws the hustling Soto out by a step.

Anyone notice that while Soto lowers his head during an at bat, it is always prior to the ball being released by the pitcher? Soto's head is steady and remains on plane during the flight of the ball. So many of the Yankees' hitters lower their heads after the ball has been released by the pitcher. Hitting is hard enough without bobbing your head up and down while trying to locate and identify the pitch.
