Rice takes a first pitch FB at 93 into the drop the bat happy zone down and in. Took a crushable pitch, Ben.
Splitter hangs waist high outer 3rd, fouled off. Missed a hanging splitter, Ben.
Splitter dives way outside, taken, 1-2
Very sharp move outside on that one, and he was able to read it.
Barely checks on a splitter that was closer, but still well outside and down. 2-2

Takes a FB running high to the outside corner, 2-0
You can't be late on that 93 FB above and outside middle, but he was, and also under, fouls it back to the left.
A bit late and under a 94 FB on the inner 3rd, above the waist, fouls it back and to the left again.
He's going to have to change his swing, I think.
Bounces a splitter over home, doesn't chase, 3-2
Wells K's too much, don't send Rice.

Rice nearly picked, but just gets back.
Hmmm....Wells K rate not nearly as high as I thought, under 25%, but they don't send Rice and he takes a FB outside for ball 4.

Slider in the zone low/away, he hits a DP grounder, but it finds the 56 hole going past Clement's dive to his right, RBI single scores Rice and Wells stops at 2nd with nobody out, 3-0 Yanks!!
