FB misses 3-4 inches low, Jansen pulls it up and steals the call. Terrible call, 0% on Gameday and not close.
Takes his timeout after that CrapCall™.
Steps off to look Wells back.
Bad FB at 96, but thigh high in the middle, lines it up the middle beating Falefa's lunge to his right for a hit. Wells had to stop to make sure it wasn't caught, must stop at 3rd.
Bases loaded, nobody out for Volpe. Anything but a GIDP here, Anthony.

The Yankees infield struggles badly on this fast Toronto turf. Such an ugly playing surface with all that black rubber bouncing up. Turner hits a rocket right to DJ, so it all works out. Yeah, it reminds me of National League baseball in the 70's/80's. |

Is Grisham setting a modern record with a .137 BA? Not really relevant yet, in relatively few at bats. A pitcher in the 1950's named BoB Buhl once went 0-73 in a season, I think. Volpe fouls off a FB inside, shouldn't be chasing that. Fouls off a knee high splitter inside, shouldn't be chasing that, 0-2 Splitter down and in, spoiled foul off 3rd. Splitter much lower and still inside, chased four pitches this at bat, all out of the zone. Well at least it wasn't a GIDP. One out bases loaded for Soto. |
