Unbelievable, Cole is playing with fire here. I expect the Jays will retaliate. The Yankees don't need another injury.

FB consistently better than the game against the Mets, hitting 97-8 frequently, but still not locating like he always has.

FB just below and outside middle, taken by Turner. 0-1 Bounces a slider outside, 1-1 FB above and inside middle, fouled back, just missed under, looking for a 3 run bomb. FB at 97, waist high, outer 3rd, smacked back up the middle for a RBI single to center, Guerrero stops at 2nd, 4-1 Jays.

Gausman settled down to get out of what could have been a big inning for the Yankees. Cole just did the same.

Cutter drops below the waist in the middle, and Springer rolls over on it to Volpe, who starts a 6-4-3 DP, with Torres' relay beating Springer to first by a hair. Inning over. Much much needed DP there, limiting the pitchcount damages.
Top 4, 4-1 Yanks. 26 pitches in the 3rd for Cole, 63 through 3. Gisham, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto.

Is Grisham setting a modern record with a .137 BA? For Grisham, the Mendoza line is something to aspire to, not avoid.

Oh, about Bob Buhl, he went 0-70, not 0-72, in 1962. Which I think is the record for hitless at bats in one season.

"You know a lot about wind." If that isn't a great set up to a joke, and Flash does nothing with it. Sitting next to you has taught me a lot…

Anybody know what Cole's pitch limit is today? 75? 80?

Grisham takes a FB at the knees in the middle, 0-1 Gets a FB down the middle and bunts foul, 0-2 Takes a splitter down and in, 1-2 Misses a splitter going low on the outer 3rd, K, 1 down.

Wells,DJ, Grish, Volpe might be four of the worst hitters I’ve ever seen.
