Grisham gets a cutter in the zone up and in, pushes a perfect dump bunt down 3rd for a hit. 1st and 2nd, 2 down and if nothing else, it clears the bottom of the order for the 3rd. We need Volpe to get going again. He’s not being selective at all recently… Yep, as evident of his at bat in the 9th inning. He takes the first strike right down the middle of the plate, then swings at 2 pitches way out of the strike zone.
I also agree that the Yankees need Volpe to start hitting. In my opinion, he's the spark on the top of the Yankees lineup that they need.

Maybe it' for time to pull Gil from the starting rotation for a start or two and let Blake work with him, Also, it's time to think about the bullpen with the amount innings thrown this season. No way they should pull Gil from the starting rotation. His stuff is still there. He was a bit wild and threw 1 bad pitch to Benson. All that happens to the best of pitchers. |

If Boone starts managing his pitching staff with a what has he done for me lately attitude, there isn't going to be enough pitchers in the entire Yankees farm from A-ball-Triple A. |

volpe has regressed back to last year's model. when the team was going good, he was the sparkplug. looks like his upper cut swing is back and he has a case of stanton-itis regarding the low off-the-plate slider and it's virtually impossible to walk him. guessing pitchers have also adjusted to him.
some stats: 1st 15 games .382 BA 1.041 OPS 2 HR 8 RBI 15% walk rate 14% K rate 5 SB yankees 11-4 certainly unsustainable but something around .275
last 15 games .189 BA .462 OPS 0 HR 2 RBI 5% walk rate 26% K rate 0 SB yankees 4-11 you can't steal bases if you don't get on

All that happens to the best of pitchers. for now don't we have a choice until schmidt or poteet come back. they keep insisting it's not fatigue but command is the first thing that goes when you're tired. 1st 3 innings strong and in the last 1.1 inning he walked 4 and hit 2 batters. and even though he pitched a solid 3 innings, think he only had one swing & miss on his fastball. troubling ...

We were out of town last week visiting family in Upstate NY and this week has been very busy, so I'm just trying to catch up. Yeah, they let us do assassinations on weekends and Federal holidays, but otherwise we were restricted to overthrowing governments. Do me a favor and keep this under your hat.  |

One is 8 and has an Apple watch now and calls me all the time, its so cute. The other is 2 and always wants to call "Kaseeb Chacha" (uncle in Bengali). I told his parents they can call me whenever he says that but they were like he says it every 20 minutes so they just say I'm sleeping most of the time.
Your newphews/nieces are lucky to have you pipps, I know you make the coolest uncle.
