Just heard that the Reds lead MlB in steals!!!! Should be interesting 🤔 As I mentioned at the tail end of the game thread last night, even if take out De La Cruz and his world-leading 39 steals, they have 3 outfieders with more than 10 steals each, and the Reds would still be 4th in the NL even without De La Cruz. |

FB waist high, outer 3rd, fouled off, 0-2
Change tails outside, but De La Cruz spoils
Flies open a bit, misses 6 inches above the top, outside middle, 1-2
Good change with some 2 plane movment, tails outside, thigh-high, missed for the K, 1 down.

Cndelario rolls over on a 1st pitch change, Volpe moves from his shifted position near 2nd to pick it up right in front of Torres, throws to 1st, 2 down and India to 2nd.
Might have been a DP if he let Torres play it, but it was hit slowly, so I don't think they get two on it anyway.

Good 1st inning for Gil, just 15 pitches and two swinging K's.

1st pitch cutter on the low-outside cutter, Volpe goes with it and lines it hard, but right to Steer at 1st for the first out. 97.2 on that liner.
