Next time Boone, when you're making out the lineup, don't overthink it. Just play your best players. I doubt if Boone makes out the lineup.

So Volpi swings at a pitch at shoe tops and hits into a double play. I know he got a key double but he is a terrible lead-off hitter. He could have bunted the runner, just waited for the right pitch to go the other way to make sure Judge get an at bat. I'm more annoyed that he didn't take a strike there after Wells worked a long walk and Diaz missed with his first pitch. Diaz' main weakness is control, he walks a lot of guys, and if you want to get him, you have to give him a chance to walk himself into trouble.

sooner than later, the team has to consider firing Brian Cashman. Hi, dude. Good to see you in the thread even if it's just after the game. If they fire Cashman, it won't be until/if the team collapses.

How many times have you not known the Name That Yankee this year, qwik? I feel like you get them all. he' a pain on the a** isn't he? LOL Sorry I missed this reply in the thread, pres. Too busy trying to keep up with the delayed webcast. Know-it-all has to know-it-all is not a very good defense, but it's all I got.

This team has no energy out there right now. Bring this young guys back and let them play. Cant be worse. Dominquez would be here if he wasn't injured. I think Rice needs to play 1st over Davis and DJ full time. Oswald needs called up to play over DJ at 3rd. Platoon DJ and Torres at second. Make a trade for an outfielder that Grisham was supposed to be. Hope and pray our starters figure things out to give that bullpen a break. Also, Boone needs to let a guy go at least 5 innings once in awhile even if they are down and the game is still winnable.

Nothing will change until Cashman and Boone are sent packing. They’re now 5-13 in their last eighteen games as their flawed roster caught up to them. Who in their right mind isn’t having Volpe bunt in the ninth with Soto and Judge coming up?
Don’t look now but Boston will eventually jump over this team.

Ok...Yanks will try to avoid getting swept by the Reds at home by sending Marcus Stroman out there. Stroman doesn't have much stuff, but he battles as hard as he can with what he has. He's 7-3 on the season with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.286 WHIP, but is one of the top 5 in the AL in walks allowed. Opposing Stroman will be ex-Yankee Frankie Montas, burning for revenge after the Yanks failed to give him a big multi-year deal after he gave his heart-and-soul to the Yanks for a season-and-a-half still trying to re-establish himself after giving the Yanks nothing being injured and on the IL, or pitching injured and crappy for a season-and-a-half after they traded four pitchers for Montas and the oft-injured Lou Trivino at the deadline in 2022. Montas has fought The Great American Lanching Pad to essentially a draw so far this season: 3-6 with a 4.23 ERA and just 8 HR allowed in 72 2/3 innings. To the surprise of no one who knows him, he already had a short stint on the IL again in late April and Early May.
The game is a July 4 matinee at 1:05 pm on YES.
One last check of notifications for me...

Boone refuses to do anything different except continue to let this team flounder.

He's finally heating up at AAA after a long cold streak after being injured to start the season. Platoon DJ and Torres at 2nd? DJ probably can't handle the position very well anymore and they're both right hand hitters, and Torres, as bad as he's going is outhitting DJ against both righties and lefties so far. But I don't think they're DFAing DJ anytime soon, not while they're well in possession of a Wild Card. Boone did let Rodon go five innings, both tonight, and last time, even when he gave up 8 in the first two innings. I just don't see what moves they can try immediately, if they're not going to DFA LeMahieu and I don't think they will.

The bottom line is this will end up 15 years without a WS appearance while having the highest or one of the highest payrolls. Cashman has failed and it would almost be better to continue the choke to get him away from this team.

Peraza has been lousy at Scranton, although he's starting to hit a little better recently. I don't think he's an option.

Thank you. Happy to be here. I just wish it was under less frustrating circumstances.
