Maybe I am just old school, but I want a manager who put in his years like Torre (not that i loved him, but he won us 4 rings) and other OLD guys who have seen it all and if given a Cadillac or a Rolls Royce team can drag them across the finish line. We are not the Florida marlins, the Pittsburgh pirates, we are the fuckin Yankees. we don't groom managers, we bring in the best. Boone was never a manager in the minors or majors (not even a bench coach) and you give him the car keys? I was shocked and not surprised at this crap because he is an inexperienced manager who should never have been hired. I blame Cashman and Hal. George would never put up with this absolute dumpster fire. year after year we suffer with this manager who is extremely inexperienced! When Torre was hired as Manager of the Mets he was 37 and had never managed a game. What were they thinking? He should have never been hired as a Manager. No MLB Team should ever hire a Manager who hasn't already managed at the MLB level. I also believe Teams should not bring up any minor league prospects who haven't already had some MLB experience. |

Boones first year as a manager the Team won 100 games, his second year they won 103.

It was the same IP used by the member "turbo6" who I banned as well. Its easy to switch IPs and come back as a different guest though. I may have to temporarily halt guest posting if he keeps doing that.
In the meantime if anyone sees any guest posts just obviously trolling, dont reply, just report them to me (click the gear button on the top right of the post and select "Report Post".)

manager's are in a tough spot. totally dependent on a player's performance. if a move a manager makes works, no one notices. when a player doesn't get it done, the manager's a dummy.
all of them make "questionable" moves. cash, who is generally acknowledged as one of the best has made a couple and i questioned /trevino pinch hitting for wells move last night.

In 1964, the Yankees had promoted Player/Coach Yogi Berra to be their MLB Manager. Yogi had no Manager experience at any level. He managed to win 99 games during the 1964 AL season and play 7 game World Series against the Cardinals.

My first year playing slow pitch softball for TR's Bar and Grill I was made manager despite not having any previous experince. We won the League!
