Jams him with a waist high sinker running off the plate inside, he grounds it weakly to short, and Rafaela throws him out, inning over.
Easy 1-2-3 for Houck in the 1st, just 13 pitches.
Top 2, 0-0.
Devers, Wong and Gonzalez for the Sox in the 2nd.

Devers shows bunt (as if you would in this spot) takes a waist high FB on the outer 3rd, 0-1
Fouls off a sweeper thigh high, middle, 0-2
Slider dives well outside, 1-2
Devers takes the timeout
FB waist high, inside corner, fouled straight back, almost got to that one. Devers has 2 HR and 5 RBI vs. Nestor in 11 at bats.
But not this time!
FB thigh high, outside middle, but Devers misses clean for the K, 1 down.

FB on the outside corner, thigh high, fouled well down the right side, slices out of play, 1-1
Tries for the back door with the sweeper, misses low, 2-1
Cutter in the zone down and in, fouled, 2-2

FB in the zone up and in jams him a bit, he tries to inside out it, grounds weakly to Torres, throws him out, 2 down.

Much better location on a FB that barely clips the bottom of the zone, outer 3rd, taken, 0-2
No chance change tails way outside, 1-2
FB above the waist, outer 3rd, belted to deep left, Verdugo has no chance, goes over his head off the wall for a 2 out double.

Slider in the zone down and in, and Verdugo hits it hard down 1st, but Gonzalez gets it with a slide to his left, flips to Houck, 1 down.
Tough break for Verdugo.

Splitter hits the bottom of the zone, outer half, not called, 1-0. 30% on Gameday so a bad call.
Splitter stays outside, 2-0
Sinker just below middle middle, but rolled over to the 34 hole, Gonzalez gets to it, flips to Houck, inning over.
Another very easy 1-2-3 for Houck, although all the balls hit pretty hard, just 7 pitches, and 20 through 2. He can only go 10 innings at that rate.
Top 3, 0-0
Valdez, Rafaela and back to the top for Duran for the Sox in the 3rd.

Swings under a FB above the zone, outside middle, 2-2 Takes his timeout FB near middle, hit hard to the right side, but Cortes gets a break, it's just one step from Torres, who takes the step, gloves it behind him, wheels and throws him out, 1 down. |

Chases a slider going just out of the zone low/away, 0-2
Takes his timeout, then takes a slider 8 inches outside, 1-2
FB above the waist inner 3rd, ties him up a bit, he pops to right, Soto comes in to catch, as Duran eyewashes the turn around first only to start trotting halfway to 2nd.
Excellent 1-2-3 for Nestor in the 3rd, although 2 balls hit hard. 12 pitches and 41 through 3. (103 and 91 on the 1st two outs)
Bottom of the order for the Yanks in the 3rd, Volpe, Grisham and LeAMahieu.
