OK, there is no rain at the Stadium at this moment, at least on radar, but a big strom cell is about to come through, nasty one. looks like it will delay the game for an hour at least.

First storm cell big angry red blob, moving up from the southwest through Manhattan, just getting to the ballpark now. There's supposed to be a break for a few minutes, then a 2nd shorter smalled cell, then another break then light rain after that. Rain isn't supposed to completely stop until about 8:30 according to Accuweather's Mintuecast. We'll see.

Of course there's a rain delay. Nestor looked on his way to a good 6 innings or better, so naturally, they have to lose him and go to the weak part of the pen. Maciejewski, anyone? The Sox will eat him alive. The altternative is bringing Weaver for 2-3 innings, and losing him for the rest of the series, mabye.

There has been so much mop up time in recent days that the primary relievers should be rested...or even bored ! Only Weaver is on more than one day's rest. Houck back on the mound. Volpe about to stepin as things resume. |
