Takes a slider that hangs outside, 1-0
Sharp splitter tails hard but winds up 6 inches outside, taken, 2-0
Same slider as the first pitch, maybe somewhat higher, 3-0
And the sinker tails outside like the splitter, again by at least 6 inches, ball 4.
1st and 2nd, nobody out. Bunt with DJ?

A long inning with a lot of pitches adds to nestor's delay, so they'd better get run(s)
Sinker inside, hit hard to Gonzalez near 2nd, he fumbles, recovers, throws off the timing of the flip, Rafaela comes down and Grishman short slides into him, and DJ barely beats the relay, Yanks get a break and better capitalize, 1st and 3rd, one down for Rice.

Rice rolls over on a slider hit sharply to Gonzalez, he steps on 1st, throws to 2nd way ahead of DJ, who makes a mistake of not getting in the rundown, instesd stops and tries to go around the tag, which if he does, he's out of the baseline anyway. Volpe stops to spectate before touching home, compounding the error. Stupid baserunning at both ends hands the Sox a cheap DP which also takes a cheap run off the board. Bad bad bac.,

Takes a change outside, 1-0
Cutter into the zone up and away, taken, 1-1
Slider backs up outside 2-1
Same slider a bit higher, 3-1
Swings over a cutter in the middle of the zone but at the knees, 3-2
Flies open a bit and a bad cutter misses waist high, 6 inches outside, ball 4.
Devers up now, and Nestor doesn't look as sharp as he did at the start.
