Good change drops onto the outer 3rd, just above the knees, swung over, 1-2

Throws over on O'Neill again.

Soto swings over the sharp dropping slider below the knees near the middle, 0-1
Takes that tough slider at the knees, inside middle, 0-2
Splitter dives both low and away but well below the knees, 1-2
Gets under a splitter that dives well outside, 2-2
Tries for the back door with a slider, stays outside 3-4 inches knee high, but he reaches and fouls it.
Loses the grip on the slider and it goes arouond everything, ball 3.
Gets under another slider, it hangs outside 5-6 inches, ball 4.
Leadoff walk for the Yanks in the 2nd.
No grounders here, Judge.

The gamplan is to try to get ahead then tie him up down and in for a DP grounder

Sinker down and in, he doesn't quite get to it, fouls it off down the right side, 3-2

Back to back walks put 1st and 2nd with nobody out for Verdugo. Bunt? Maybe not.

Takes a splitter way up and away, no bunt shown, 1-0 on Verdugo.
Bounces a slider down and in, and that was supposed to be away, at least that's where Wong was moving, had to reach back and backhand it.
Wong goes out to talk to Houck. Location crossup the last pitch, maybe?

Splitter in the zone outer 3rd above the waist, Verdugo late and under, flies to medium deep left, but O'Neill has a great arm, so Soto bluffs to draw a throw. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for Torres.

Chases a sinker just on or off the corner inside, he's late and under, fouled off, 1-1
Slider misses knee high, outside by 3 inches, Wong holds the ball, but doesn't get the call, nor should he have.
Sinker near middle and AAARRRGGG, Torres fouls it back, he won't get another good pitch like that, 2-2
Splitter in the middle at the bottom, spoiled foul
Slider stays thigh high, inner 3rd, but Torres is early, pulls it foul.
Sinker above and inside middle, Torres is late and fouls it off.

Torres lunged to reach first and reinjured the groin and is leaving the game.
Looks like an IL trip for Gleyber, just what the Yanks need.
