FB runs just outside at 95, below the waist, and Devers swings inside of it for the K, 1 down. Impressive.

Takes a cutter outside.
Takes a curve below the knees that's called a strike anyway, Cole got a break on that oen, 0% on Gameday.
FB on the outside corner near the top, pulled to the normal 2nd base spot, but Cabrera is shading to pull and it gets past his dive to his right for a 1 out single.

I'm going out on a limb here, and say that I see Don Mattingly potential in Ben Rice. He has a great swing, and knows how to work the count. I look forward to watching his AB's, which, outside of Soto and Judge, I can't say that about anyone else in the Yankee lineup this season.

FB at the top is served back up the middle, a line drive over a leaping Volpe for a single to center, and no short shutdown inning for Cole in the 2nd. Sigh.

Gets under a changup misses well outside at the top, 2-0
Cutter inside pulled way foul toward the dugout, and hits Trevino with the follow through.
Rushes and gets under a cutter way high above the outside corner and he's lost his slot for the moment
Fb misses up and away, Smith tries to check, and the 3rd base ump says he checked, but the side view says he clearly went.
Meeting at the mound to give Cole a break. Bases loaded, two outs, for the dangerous Rafaela.

Humps up to 98, FB inner 3rd, is foued striaght back. Whew.
FB rides and runs up and in, Rafaela hacks wildly and misses, 0-2
FB about 10 inches above middle at 98, 1-2
FB in the zone near the top at 97, outer half, swung under for the K. If only Rodon could really figure that out.
Bottom 2, 1-0 Yanks, but Cole needed 23 pitches and is at 42 through 2. If he can't be more efficient than that, he's out after just 5 innings, whether he puts up all zeroes or not.
Volpe, Grisham and Trevino for the Yanks in their 2nd inning.
