Seems like everytime Boone trys to get a little extra out of a SP this year it costs us, but I didn't think that ball was going out. There have been harder hit balls tonight that have stayed in the park.

has does devers keep doing it. Because he's an elite hitter who can hit anyone's FB, if a pitcher puts it within reach. Chapman did it early in Devers' career, and Yankee pitchers won't sttop giving him fastballs in key spots when he can kill games by crushing them.

Cabrera baserunning mistake costs us a run, looks like adjustment to Rice is offspeed stuff at the bottom of the zone. I don't see it as a mistake. The ball was hit very hard and he only took a step toward second. IMO, he needs to know where the 2b is and he freezes on that ball, his momentum was taking him away from 1B and he could,t recover.

Weaver in as Boone will no2 have to chase another deficit. FB up in the zone near middle, taken for a strike Change bounced 1-1 Change low in the zone, Yoshida rolls over to Cabrera, throws to 1st, inning over. Too late, Boone.

Sounds like it was just a can of corn hit to the right part of the right ballpark.

We just need to start hitting. Only 1-0. We can win this…

Gil's command has been pretty good all night, but that pitch was kinda fat.

Ravech the idiot channelled Smoltz and said it was just 326 feet, but it was 373 feet, and was a HR in 18 of 30 parks, according to Statcast.

Not by a lot, but by enough, 25 pitches in the heat in the 6th inning...I would've gone to Weaver. Even if Weaver coughs up the HR, at least he's fresh.

Soto...Let's see some fire here, Juan. FB taken above the outside corner, 1-0 Cutter low, 2-0. Pitching around him maybe?
