Cutter in the zone up and in, Soto turns on it and hammers it down the line, hooks just foul into the 2nd deck. That foul HR is probably the Yankee 'rally in the 9th'. Cutter above the zone at the corner away, fouled straight back, 0-2. Slider in the zone low away, lined to left, but hangs up for O'Neill, 2 down.

Pathetic. Back to a few random hits here and there. With Judge slumping, they're an awful line-up.

Another lost series. They have a habit of not showing up the day after an offensive explosion.

Cutter at 94 misses just low in the middle, barely, 1-0 Cutter yankeed low, outside middle, 2-0 Judge misses a cutter breaking low/away in the zone, 2-1 Cutter misses just outside at the knees, 3-1 Swings over a cutter down to the low inside corner, perfect location, 3-2 Cutter right down the middle and Judge's slump is now for real, takes a huge HR cut and misses, K, game over. Crawford, Slaten and Jansen combine on a 4 hit shutout with just 1 BB on just 97 pitches, and the Yanks lose 3-0, and it's the 7th straight series they haven't won. They drop back to 18 games over at 55-37, and lose the game they A's gave them yesterday by blowing out the O's right back, trail the O's by 3. The Sox take their 2nd straight series from them and are again 4 1/2 behind. The Rays are still 10 behind, and the Jays are 13 back.

Judge is now 0-4 in his career against Jansen with 2 K's.
Amazing that someone in the ESPN cast asked if they would pitch to Judge on 3-1. Up by 3. With 2 outs. In the 9th. Sometimes, these guys say stupid things just to fill dead air. That was one of them.

Will be passed by the Sawks soon. What an epic collapse, holy smokes. Gil finally manages another good outing again and they can't hit...the day after plating 14. This team is hard broken.

Cashman and Boone should 100% be fired at season’s end.

Another bad loss. Unless Cash pulls a rabbit out of his hat at the TDL, I don't see this team going on a run. Too inconsistent and too many holes. I know a lot of posters are being critical of Boone for not pulling Gil and I think it was a tough call but don't have a problem with him starting the 7th. He was at 85 pitches and pitching really well. He made a bad pitch to Devers and it cost him but our pen has been so bad I understand him trying to get 1 more inning out of the kid. Our best 2 RPs of late each gave up a run so that decision didn't cost us the game. The Yankees inability to plate even a single run against a SP who had been struggling was what cost us the game.

In 58 games, Judge hit .392/.500/.897 with 58 runs, 28 HR and 70 RBI, 41 BB and 58 K's. But that hot streak had to end sometime, nobody can hit like that all season in the contemporary game. After the 0-4 with the hat trick tonight, last 5 games: 2-20, 3 runs, 2 RBI, no extra base hits, 2 BB and 7 K's.
Story of the game in one sentence: Sox' "elite Hall of Fame hitter" goes 3-4 with 2 solo HR; Yanks' "elite Hall of Fame hitter" goes 0-4 with 3 K's.
In 6 games vs. the Sox this year, Judge now 5-25 with 1 double, 1 HR, 6 runs and 2 RBI with 3 BB and 10 K. In 6 games vs. the Yanks this year, Devers now 7-22 with 1 double, 3 HR, 7 runs, 8 RBI with 4 BB and 9 K.

Yes, Devers killed them again but it doesn’t matter when the offense is anemic. One game didn’t change the trash they’ve trotting out there each day. Injuries aside this is god awful.
