Hamilton goes after a 1st pitch FB at the top in the middle, pops it foul near the Sox' dugout, both DJ and Wells goes for it, and Wells catches it with a late lunge, fine play by Wells, 1 down.

Okay. Susie’s prattle giving away scores, etc. has become non stop and obnoxious.
Sounds like Gil has it together so far…

Devers takes a change at the knees, not called, 20-25% on Gameday, Gil froze waiting for a strike call that should've happened, but didn't, 1-0 Takes a slider above middle, 1-1 Chases a change diving outside below the waist, 1-2 Chases a slider over the middle, but diving below the knees for the K, inning over.
Bottom 4, 0-0. Another good 1-2-3 for Gil. 12 pitches and 49 through 4. Top of the order for the Yanks in the 4th: Rice, Soto and Judge.

Okay. Susie’s prattle giving away scores, etc. has become non stop and obnoxious. Sounds like Gil has it together so far… Yeah, he looks different, improved slider so far, changing the pitch mix. Still mostly FBs, but the slider is the 2nd pitch so far, and he's only thrown about 4-5 changes in 49 pitches.

Now the inevitable manager interview, interrupting Rice's at bat. Takes a curve dropping below middle, 0-1 Swings over a cutter below the knees, in the middle, 0-1 Chases a splitter below the knees, in the middle, 3 pitch K, 1 down.

Judge has been nonexistent in this series.

Soto goes after a first pitch FB above the waist, slaps it right to Rafaela, throws him out, 2 down. 30 pitches in 3 2/3 innings for Crawfod. At that pace, he can only go 12 innings.
Judge takes a FB below the top for a strike Misses a sweeper at the top of the zone, 0-2 Takes a sweeper on the outside corner waist high, for a ꓘ, inning over, and this is getting stupid already. A great game? OK. A dominant game? It happens. But a dominant game on 8 pitches an inning, that's just failure to adpat to what he's doing. 7-pitch 1-2-3 with 2 K's for Crawford and he's through 4 innings at 33 pitches.
5-6-7 for the Sox iun the 5th, along with the inevitable Boone interview interruption: Wong, Yoshida and Abreu.

Wong takes a slider on the outside corner above the waist, 0-1 Change bounced outside, 1-1 FB in the same spot as the first pitch slider, fouled off, 1-2 Change yanked well outside and low, 2-2 FB letter high inside middle swung on and misses, K, 1 down.

Yoshida gets a change above middle, thinks it's a FB, is early and tops it to Rice at first, takes it to the bag, 2 down.

Slider hangs outside to Abreu, 1-0 Slider drops barely to the top of the zone at the outer 3rd, called a strike, 1-1 Change runs well outside near the top, 2-1 Misses a 97 FB above the waist, outside corner, 2-2 Slider waist high, 3-4 inches inside, pulls it hard but way way foul into the 2nd deck. Good slider with 2 plane motion down and in out of the zone, swung over. K, inning over.
Hey, Karl! He DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THE SAME GIL. The slider is the #2 pitch right now, and the often-used change is an afterthought so far tonight.
