Right off the "bat", Hal, Cashman and Boone need to go! Cashman had his day, the game has passed him by! He hires a manager for the greatest franchise in MLB history from a TV booth! Never managed a pro team before. Then there is the useless, clueless Owner, Hal who learned zero from his father! I hate the FA system with never ending rising salaries for players that, for the most part, are spoiled Brates! BUT, if you are going to own a baseball club, then you have to deal with the inflated salaries for players that hit 230 and pitchers with ERA over 4. Hal has already stated that he can not maintain his cost for players that is over 300 million! Yet he gave up a ton of young players for Soto who is going to make Judges 40 million a year look like peanuts next year! Good luck with that! And what are we getting for that 300 million? Well, it's way to early to answer that question! What drives a player to play at 100% every game when he is a multi millionaire at an early age? There are a few, but we see players on The Yankees with there heads up there asses at times! The Owners try to protect there players from injury, so a bruise puts them on the IR! Pitchers are throwing 80+ pitchers at 90+ MPH in a much shorter amount of time with the play clock and the injuries will get worse with shorter careers! What say you? PS- I forgot about Boone! I'll kept it short, Boone SUCKS!

I think most people are tired of Cashman and Boone (though there are exceptions. I saw one poster say they didn't mind them). The problem is Hal is not going anywhere and Cashman is Hal's boy. Its going to take some really tough times for him to get rid of Cashman. Then Boone is loved by the front office so it would probably take the Yankees missing the playoffs to get rid of him. I wish Hal would sell the team but we know that isn't happening.
In these times of escalating team revenues I'd rather see the money going to the players than pocketed by the owners. So the rising player salaries don't bother me that much. The players are the reason we watch the game.

If getting rid of Cashman means we will hire somebody that will do a better job of roster development and build the farm system where players can develop beyond the AAA level I am all for it. Boone I don't really care but given the roster he has to choose from I am not sure what he can do. We have guys like Grisham and DJ who can't hit a lick. Jones has improved some but you can't count on him, in my opinion. Then there is the pitching staff. Build the farm system. Without that we are going to be hoping guys like Matt Carpenter come around every August to provide some offense. Probably not going to happen.

The way forward is to hire a GM who believes hitting matters.

Kaybli, In my mind a couple things have to change. I get the desire for competive balance, but I think that MLB needs to implement a Team Salary Floor. They need to do somthing about the large gaps that exist between the Leagues top spenders and those Teams that don't spend. If the LT threshold is $245 maybe the floor should be 60% of that or pick a number.

I don't mind the players making bags of cash...but if you spent a few nights watching the college guys this month you know that baseball can be great for fans at lower levels too. Once you get to know the names, the teams and the rivalries it is very easy to get lost in a college game as easily as MLB. And given the lack of effort I see in many MLB games, maybe college ball is the way to go.

Well, this season, he has watched games in with Paul Skenes has pitched for the Pirates. Other than that - no MLB for the last several years.

Reese Chapman, friend/club teammate of my grandson, is on that team. Went to Grandview HS…same as Greg Bird & Kevin Gausman. He’ll probably start next year.

Kind of surprising that talents that big are not lured to a prep school.

Yes...Grandview is in Cherry Creek School District, which has produced quite a few MLB players including Dave Aardsma, Josh Bard & Brad Lidge. Colorado has open enrollment, but Grandview HS was the "home" school of Bird, Gausman & Chapman.

When is this going to end? The Boone and Cashman era needs to end NOW! Getting rid of Hal is going to be tougher! We will need to come up with a few trillion dollars! I will start it off with a 10 spot! That will get the ball rolling! Sadly, unless things turn around, we need to unload Soto! We are going to lose him for nothing! Hal has all ready said the payroll is too high! What does that tell Soto? Hés gone!
