Slider below middle, hammered to the left side, but Walls is playing that way, allowing Walls to slide to his backhand to spear it, gets up, throws a 1 hopper to Diaz, who digs it out, 1 down.

Swings over a slider that winds up in the middle, but low, 1-1
Swings over a slider down and in, 1-2
Change tails outside above the knees, Wells swings inside of it for the K, 2 down.

Volpe is 2-3 vs. Adam.
FB just inside middle, Volpe a bit late and a bit under, flies out to DeLuca in medium deep right. Never a threat to leave the park, inning over. Not even a HR at the Stadium. Or anywhere else.
Bottom 8, 4-3 Rays.
3-4-5 for the Rays in their half of the 8th: Rosario, Parades and Siri. Tonkin needed 17 pitches in the 7th. Not sure who gets the 8th.

wells another guy with no concept of strike zone. should have been up 3-0 in the count For what it's worth, his O-swing percentage is 25%, 4% better than the MLB average. Not that you could tell from that at bat. |

Takes a sinker inside, ball 1
Slider inside fouled, 1-1
FB outside middle, but he misses, fouling it, 1-2
Slider low near middle, 2-2
Slider below and inside middle,popped to the bullpen mounds in left, but DJ and Verdugo are both playing well to pull and neither can get very close, drops foul.
Sinker inside ties him up, he dribbles it in front of home, Wells hustles outs barehands and throws a strike to Rice. Excellent play by Wells there, 1 down.
