Kahnle, the human gas can lately. Seems like every move Boone makes blows up on him. Now we need 2.

Rice the tying run at the plate, let's see how he deals with high heat. Slider winds up just low on the corner away, Jackson pulls THAT one up and gets the call, 0-1. Gameday says 10% so maybe not. Gets the break on the slider down and in, clips the inside edge, not called, 10-15% on Gameday. FB maybe 1-2% on the outside edge and Rice gets another call, 2-1 Slider on the corner up and in, 2-2 Slider hangs up in the middle, Rice is early and under for the K

I'm just not sure how you go forward after the all star break with Boone as your manager. Every year it's the same thing...fast start followed by a collapse. There doesn't seem to be much, if any, accountability. His handling of his pitching staff is atrocious. I know the roster is full of warts, but the man managing these guys isn't helping. You gotta start somewhere, and where better?

Slider waist high, inner 3rd, taken for a strike. FB waist high, outside middle, driven to deep left center, Siri is a great defender, but doesn't know exactly where the wall is and makes an eyewash leap when he didn't have to, catching the final out. Soto hit it 406 feet, and to make the agony worse, that's a HR in 12 out of 30 parks, but not in the HorrificDome™, game over. Yanks lose again, 5-3, their 2nd straight and 16th of the last 21 games, dropping back to 17 games over .500 at 55-38.

Like usual get behind early come close to tying and don't do it.
Orioles lost but Boston up 11-5 in 6th vs the A's they can close the gap to 3.5 with a win.
Yankees stay 3 back.
Yankees really need these next two games

Kahnle, the human gas can lately. Seems like every move Boone makes blows up on him. Now we need 2. That wasn't even that bad a pitch, and wasn't a good swing, he made contact with almost a check swing and it found the right spot for the cheap double and RBI.

The offense is a homer dependent disaster.

The offense is a homer dependent disaster. So they actually lead or are second in mlb in a lot of offensive categories. The issue is the pitching puts them in holes and then they do just enough to keep their run differential in the 100's but never get that tying or go ahead run lately. They are the only team in the Al with over a 100 run differential it's frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Game 2 in tomorrow at 6:50 pm, unfortunately on Prime Video, and I'll spare everyone the usual complaining about that. Marcus Stroman with 3 poor starts in his last 4 games, is 7-4 on the season with a 3.58 ERA, will try and turn things around for the Yanks. Zack Eflin, 5-5 with a 4.19 ERA, but was hit hard by the Royals in his last start, pitches for the Rays. Eflin still leads the AL in fewest walks per 9 innings and is 2nd in K/BB ratio.
I've been checking notifications pretty well all the way along; I'll take one more look before I go...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They accumulated those impressive stats earlier in the year when Verdugo and Volpe were playing over their heads and Stanton was healthy. Plus Soto and Judge were playing like the future Hall of Famers they are. This current lineup as no depth and certainly doesn't scare you once you get past Judge.
