Oh, forgot the out of town scores and the current standings. O's did not rally late tonight, or even make much of an attempt, losing to the Cubs, 9-2 Sox still well ahead of the A's, 11-5 in the 7th. Jays-Giants just about to get underway: Kikuchi vs. Blake Snell, making his first start off the IL, his 2nd IL stint of the season already.
Yanks stay 3 games behind the O's, and unless something extraordinary happens in Fenway, the Sox close to 3 1/2 back after being 14 games behind the Yanks on June 12th. The Rays gain a game on both the O's and Yanks and are 9 games behind the Yanks and 11 behind the O's. The Jays gain a half game on both for now, pending the game at Oracle Park.

The offense is a homer dependent disaster. So they actually lead or are second in mlb in a lot of offensive categories. The issue is the pitching puts them in holes and then they do just enough to keep their run differential in the 100's but never get that tying or go ahead run lately. They are the only team in the Al with over a 100 run differential it's frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That’s mostly a result of their start and they have put up some crooked numbers in the few wins during this horrid stretch. Otherwise, yes the pitching has been rough but so is their ability to hit with RISP.

Plus Soto and Judge were playing like the future Hall of Famers they are. This current lineup as no depth and certainly doesn't scare you once you get past Judge. They are very fortunate that the Orioles have been streaky the last month and haven't really pulled away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But you're right, it's deceptive; the 42-150 since the slide started includes very high numbers with RISP in the few blowouts, including a ridiculous 9 for 12 in the 2nd game in Toronto. Take that one game out, and it's .239 (33-138) in the other 20 games of the avalanche downhill.

Curry just said they are 10th in runs scored since the KC loss when this started. 23 games or whatever it is. Regardless of whatever numbers they have a shot to be still pretty close to the division lead if they can win a few games before the end of the weekend. Gotta hopefully capitalize on that before the break. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not inconceivable that we don't win another game before the break.

Not inconceivable that we don't win another game before the break. I think that's stretching it. They haven't been going on 7 game losing streaks. They really can't afford 3 losses to the orioles either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's mostly been win, 2-3 losses, another win, 2-3 more losses. I don't think they've won 2 in a row since that kc series win though.

Not inconceivable that we don't win another game before the break. I'm assuming 1-5 or 2-4.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk indeed. that's how baseball works. no doubt we've been terrible but yeah fortunately the O's have been treading water 12-12 over the same period. we remain only 1/2 game behind the dodgers - the best team money can buy - who've been 13-11. ups & downs of a long season.
fans tend to be very negative and pessimistic regarding their own team. the other team's grass is always greener. hell we've got qwik "calling" losses after 2 innings or more recently after 7 down by 2 - just a bloop and a blast ... but yeah the team hasn't done much to engender any optimism.
don't know when, how or even if we get out of this tailspin. pretty sure we're not a .260 team and we sure as heck wasn't a .700 team. will the real yankee team please stand up. keep waiting for a savior to rise from these streets. 69 games left to play ...
