If Boone had balls, he would take Rodon out right now, shoving his performance in his face... And, effectively depleting the bullpen early in a three-game series. I would prefer that Rodon get to five innings or more, while rediscovering his pitch mix along the way. Call me crazy.

Caballero misses a change on the corner away, 0-1 FB up and away, 1-1 Change outside and up 2-1 Change almost in the same spot, 3-1 Misses high with a FB above the middle of the zone, ball 4. Caballero walks. 28 pitches for Rodon, and Blake comes out to try to give him a breather.

When the Yanks signed Rodon, I thought it was a good move. Paterson tried to convince me it was a bad move, guess he was right. The big question was always his health. He shouldn't be pitching this bad.

I don't follow other teams closely, but do other teams have such high highs and low lows in the same season as frequently as us.

If Boone had balls, he would take Rodon out right now, shoving his performance in his face... The problem is that they don't have a long man in the pen. True, but it's the message to Rodon. Plus, what are the odds that the Yankees will come back from 4-1??? As long as Rodon is in, the Rays will score more...

Walls batting .161. He's on the interstate against most teams, but seems to hit the Yanks well. FB gets a small piece of the zone at the top, not called, 10% on Gameday, maybe. Caballero goes, and the throw is a bit short and offline to the first base side but happens to come down in Torres mitt right next to Caballero's ankle and he's able to get the tag on him before the hand hits 2nd. Wells with the CS to end the inning.
Top 2, 4-1 Rays. 30 pitches for Rodon in the first. Pepiot threw 21 in his half.
Volpe, Grisham and LeMahieu for the Yanks in the 2nd.

Rodon just needs to be told how bad he is... He is second in the AL giving up HRs...

Volpe takes a FB waist high, inside, ball 1 A change clips the inside corner above the waist, taken, 1-1 Slider into the upper part of the zone is fouled, 1-2 FB at or above the top, fouled back Chases a change that bounced over the inner half, K, 1 down.

Just watched Rodon try to explain why he isn't that bad to Cole...

Grisham seems surprise by a FB just above middle, takes it, 0-1 Curve bounced inside, 1-1 Takes another FB in the zone below and outside of middle, 0-2 Takes a change tailsing outside, 2-2 Swings over a change going just low in the middle, K. 2 down. I have no idea why other teams are hitting his change; it looks like a good one to me.
