The problem is that they don't have a long man in the pen. True, but it's the message to Rodon. Plus, what are the odds that the Yankees will come back from 4-1??? As long as Rodon is in, the Rays will score more... I get the frustration with Rodon but they can't kill the bullpen because of him. |

LeMahieu takes a FB outside, 1-0
Slider under a slider that stayed above the zone in the middle, 1-1
Takes a FB above the knees, near middle, 1-2
Challenges him with a FB near the top, and LeMahieu is late and under, fouls it off to the right.
FB stays well high, outer 3rd, 2-2
Change hangs just inside, thigh high, and DJ hits it well, but the fliner goes right to Arozarena in medium deep left, inning over.
Nice shutdown inning for Pepiot, 16 pitch 1-2-3 with 2 K's. 37 pitches through 2.

Judge has become a part time player so Grisham and his sub .170 bat can play everyday. It does give Inger a chance to compare his younger self with an above average defensive centerfielder. Judge takes care of everyone. |

Walls career totals: BAVG .181, OPS .545.
Vs the Yankees: BAVG .216, OPS.674.
Not great even against the Yanks but much better than the rest of MLB.

At first, I through the home plate umpire was predicting where the next pitch would go. I guess there was just a ball loose on the field.

Gets under a change way up and away, 1-1
Misses a FB at the top of the zone outside middle, 1-2, then takes his timeout.
Flies open a bit on a FB, misses well outside near the top, 2-2
Tries to check on the bounced change, can't, K. First base ump rings him up, even though the side view showed he didn't really go too far. K, 2 down.

Good take on a slider just inside at the knees, 3-1
FB above and inside middle-middle, Diaz misses under, flies out to fairly deep right of center, inning over.
Rodon bounces back with a solid 1-2-3, 13 pitches and a K, and is at 43 pitches through 2.
Top of the order for the Yanks in the 3rd: Rice, Soto and Judge.
