Good FB tailing to the low outside corner, taken, 0-1
Change tails to the corner away, thigh high, he's late and under, fouls it down the left side, 0-2
Volpe doing his usual hopping around bit trying to get a jump, but is going back to 1st as Pepiot throws Grisham a FB up and away, and he fouls it off.
2nd throw over gives Volpe an edge, if he can run down by 3.
Volpe goes, but the change is on the corner away, so Grisham can't take, and rolls it over to Caballero to end the inning.
Bottom 4, 4-1 Rays. 17 pitches for Pepiot in the 4th, and 71 through 4.
7-8-9 for the Rays: Caballero, Walls and Jackson.

Rodon changed that awful looking sweaty uniform - hope they get rid of those next season - I would have done that after the first inning.

why is Grisham always in the lineup lately? Inger has done a prolific write-in campaign to get more defense on the field. Apparently, he was very successful.  |

Rodon changed that awful looking sweaty uniform - hope they get rid of those next season - I would have done that after the first inning. I think the league already has said they will making changes to the uniforms, but not until next season. |

Fb above the zone at 97, fouled back and it's ANOTHER long at bat for Rodon.
Curve out of the zone low/away bounced foul off 3rd.
FB on the outside corner, just below the waist, swung on and missed, K. 1 down. 7 more pitches.

Solid slider misses down and in, good take by Jackson, and it's another long at bat.
FB up and in at 97, spoiled straight back.
Curve into the middle of the zone at the knees, pulled hard but foul on the ground off 3rd.
Change almost down the middle fouled.
It isn't just the hitting they're belted him for, it's the fact that it's taking him too long to dispose of weak hitters, even when he has two strikes on them
Slider taken way low near middle, 3-2.
FB outside corner waist high, Jackson misses late and under, flies out to Soto in medium right. Inning over.
Another 1-2-3 for Rodon, but he needed 21 pitches to get the Rays 7-8-9 guys, and the Rays are a poor hitting team. 94 pitches through 4. If Boone is going to go batter by batter with Rodon, then take him out NOW, I don't want to see him pouting after he gives up a leadoff hit to Diaz and then Boone comes to take him out.
Top 5, 4-1 Rays.
LeMahieu, then back to the top for Rice and Soto, and the Yanks bettere get to Pepiot this inning, because he's probably not coming back for the 6th.

Rodon becoming a decent long man. You know that guy who comes in and settles a game down that is getting out of control early. It's too bad that he's also the guy letting the games get away early.
