I don't like all the Boone hate, but when I watch us against the Rays and Sox, it always seems that Cash & Cora are 1 to 2 steps ahead of Boone It's absolutely true that Cora and Cash are clearly better than Boone, but some of that is roster construction. Their GMs build their rosters with Yankee-killers on offense, in the rotation and in the pen, and Cashman doesn't. So they usually have a sound rotation for a series with the Yanks, and mutltiple viable in-game options.

J. Lowe takes a slider low in the middle, Fouls off a slider down and in. Takes a Slider that wound up just outside and below middle middle. Chases a back leg slider for the K. Inning over.
Top 8, 5-3 Rays. Judge, Rice and Torres for the Yanks in the 8th.

Judge... Fouls off a crushable 1st pitch FB outside middle Takes a change inside, 1-1 Chases a slider going off the plate away, 1-2 Takes his timeout Then takes a slider well outside, waist high, 2-2 Completely fooled by the slider way low/away, a Stantonian chase for Judge there, K, 1 down.

Rest are alds or earlier exits...not sure how that can be called greatest manager. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Poche comes in, he'll face Rice and Torres, at least.
Rice takes a FB well low, 1-0 Takes a slider low near the corner inside, 2-0 Takes a FB just outside, above the waist, 3-0 FB misses high on the corner inside, and Torres comes to the plate as the tying run.

Torres takes a FB tailing inside above the knees, ball 1. Takes a slider pretty much right down Broadway, 1-1 Torres 2-3 vs. Poche with 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB and 1 K.

FB above the waist, line to the left side, and the Yanks get a bit of a break as it beats Caballero's lunge to his left, goes into left center for a hit. 1st and 2nd, 1 down.
Trevino will PH for Wells with the tying runs on base. Cash can't lift Poche until after this battere. Trevino is 1-4 vs. Poche.

I was excited to see Wells in this situation, and they bring in the automatic out.

Pitching coach came out to settle Poche down. They'll work Trevino down and in, I would think, trying to get a DP ball from him. Sinker low, ball 1. Slider bounced over home, 2-0.
