A slider to the same spot is lined foul down the right side, 0-2
Curve a bit below and inside the first two pitches, fouled
FB at the top, near middle, pulled down the line in right, it stays fair and goes out by plenty in the corner, solo HR makes it 2-1 Rays.
One batter too late Wells, not your fault.
Umps discussing whether that was fair, but it was clearly fair, at least live.

Volpe takes a FB outside, 1-0
Takes a FB well inside, 2-0
Slider misses by an inch inside, waist high, 3-0
Takes a 96 FB just outside middle, 3-1
Swings under a FB at the top at 96, 3-2, and again, he pulled off that pitch.
Slider above middle, again Volpe opens up and rolls over on it to Caballero, throws him out, 1 down.

Beats him clean with a 97 FB waist high, inside corner, 0-2
Check swing on a slider going inside, ties him up, rolls it over to Rosario, throws him out, 2 down.

Cabrera takes a curve down and in, 1-0
Bounces a back leg curve, 2-0
FB at the top near middle at 97, fouled off the left side, 2-1
More or less the same FB maybe a bit below the 1st one, also late and fouled off, 2-2
Takes his timeout
Gets a slider in the drop the bat happy zone, pulls it hard but foul off 1st. It it had been fair, Diaz' dive would've come up with it.
Swings over a big breaking slider down and in for the K. Inning over.
Bottom 2, 2-1 Rays.
19 pitches in the 2nd for Baz, 32 through 2.
Unlike the first five hitters in the Rays' lineup, the bottom four batters have poor/scant records against Cortes.

Wells' 5th HR: 102.0 mph, 367 feet, 32° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 MLB parks. I'll let you guys guess which park Statcast thinks that wouldn't have been a HR in.

Gets a FB on the corner away, above the waist, hits a deep fly to left center, Grisham has no play, goes for a leadoff double, and now he's 1-9 vs. Nestor.

Takes a cutter on the outer 3rd because Siri goes for 3rd and beats Wells throw with a good slide to the LF side. The throw was good, but not good enough.
FB above middle, fouled off.

Safety squeeze bunt down the 1st base line, Siri would've scored without a play, but Rice smartly lets it keep rolling until it goes foul.

Cutter at the top of the zone, right down the middle, swung under for the K, 2 down. 1 more out to get to escape the jam.
