I can understand being upset your player got hit in the helmet. That said a manager should not be inciting a fight which can get others injured. He definitely said something to Wells and Holmes which rightfully pissed off the Yankees bench.

Holmes stirs things up a bit, but does his job, and the Yanks win the firt game of the series, 4-1. They get back to 18 games over .500 at 57-39, and have two chances to actually win a series for the first time in a month tomrorow and Sunday. The win is just the 7th in the last 24 games, and their 3rd in 8 games against the O's this season. Cole gets a win with a hard-fought 6 innings of excellent pitching, and Holmes nails down his 21th save.
