drama aside much needed win to go 18 over and close the gap on the O's to one game. wishfully thinking if we can sweep, we can go into the break in 1st place. hopefully tonight's incident doesn't fire up the O's and result in retaliations.
cole deserves potg for the 6 strong. honorables go to judge for his hr and getting in the middle of the scrum. trevino w 2 doubles and an rbi. his double in the 9th led to a run. hopefully he's not hurt. soto for coming through as usual w a big insurance rbi in the 9th.
wish i got yes because would to see the postgame

I don't think they will ever be able to keep the guys in the dugout but there needs to start being rules like hockey. No one comes out from the Pen.

Can't wait for the Jomboy breakdown of this one. What was amazing is how strong Judge is. He is able to move four and five other professional athletes, like he was pushing an empty shopping cart. Remember that game a few years ago when Judge and Stanton essentially pushed the entire Red Sox team back into their dugout?

It looked to me like Trevino may have pulled his left groin.

Stars of the game...HM for Jones with an RBI single in the 2nd, doubling up the 1-0 lead, and all three relievers for a shutout inning of relief, especially Weaver, who did a great job against the heart of the O's order in the 8th, getting them 1-2-3 on 6 pitches.
3rd star: Judge for the solo HR that answered the O's only run (itself an answer after the Yanks 2-run rally in the 2nd). So intimidating, the O's refused to pitch to him the rest of the night. 2nd star: Jose Trevino, for the double in the 2nd that scored Volpe and later scoring himself on Jones' hit, the double in the 9th that led to the big insurance run on Soto's RBI single and great calling and receiving all night long as usual. 1st star: Cole for six "big boy" innings as the starter in the first game of a series in the home park of the team the Yanks are chasing for the division lead. The O's worked his pitchcount with 3-4 very long at bats, but he didn't give in, threw 105 pitches, and held the O's to 5 hits, 1 run and 1 walk, with 7 K's, setting things up for the bullpen to do its good work. The ace is back, at least for now.

Jack just said what I said: no way that Holmes was delberately throwing at Kjerstad in that spot.

should mention a star play by gleyber on the grounder up the middle in the 5th w mullins on 2nd. probably saved a run and ultimately helped get cole out of the inning.

It looked like Hyde was pointing at assistant hitting coach Casey Dykes (not that there's anything wrong with that), who looked to be the first one out of the dugout.
