Cashman made another great move bringing JD Davis in. Just DFA him.

DJ is hitting .313 in his last 7 games and is taking the baseball to all fields. The power is still lacking, but if he can make contact and get on, it's worth a shot. And he can't ground into a double play when he's leading off. in the first inning at least.

Supposedly, Accuweather minutecast for the area of Camden Yards says a medium shower goes through in about 20 minutes and some lighter steadier rain about 1/2 hour later, but maybe between 8:30 and 9:00 the heavy rain comes in for the night. So maybe they can get in 5-6 innings before the rain stops things.

Povich on the mound finishing his warmups; LeMahieu about ready to get into the box.

I must say I'm kind of surprised that they brought up Vivas rather than Oswald. Soto, Wells, and Rice are hitting from the left side; they really need another right handed bat that might hit. Peraza has started hitting of late. He also can play multiple positions, while Yorbit only plays second base. Unless their plan is to sit Gleyber versus righties or they want a LHB off the bench against a righty reliever, Yorbit really isn't a good fit. Who knows, maybe they told Gleyber his replacement is here unless he wakes up.

DJ... Takes a FB into the top of the zone near middle, 0-1 Change waist high about 3-4 inches outside, chases and fouls it back and to the right. Big breaking curve down and in, swung over, K. 1 out. 3 pitches and DJ's done.

Soto shows bunt, takes a cutter well high. Swings over a cutter going to the low outside corner, 1-1 Hangs a slider right down the middle, lined, a sinking liner to right, Santander misjudges, goes back then tries to come in and dive and he traps it, Soto with a 1 out single.

The Yankees were in town early last night; I kind of wish they moved this game to a 6pm start.

That was clearly on a bounce, no replay necessary.

Povich might be just what Judge needs to get back in rhythm.

Judge takes a curve bounced on or just over home, gets away a bit from Rutschman, but no advance. Takes a sinker low on the inner half, 2-0 Flies open on a change, misses well outside, 3-0 Throw over, Soto was hardly off the bag, gets back easy. Flies open again, cutter misses about a foot outside, ball 4. Pitches around Judge to get to Rice and Torres. 1st and 2nd, 1 out.

1st pitch slider on the corner away, below the waist, Rice goes after it, misses late and under, pops to shallow left, Kjerstad catches, 2 down.

Someone should tell Nelly that moving the fence back doesn't really matter to Judge.

Yanks have put J.D. Davis on the IL with softcontactitis and called up Jorbit Vivas, so he can sit the first game as almost every Yankee callup does. Ha, the welcome to the majors playbook, Yankees style. rice started the day he was called up.
