The humidity in Baltimore is real. The Yankees look like they're in a wet t-shirt contest and it's only the first inning. These new Nike jerseys are terrible.

Rutschman... FB tails outside, 1-0 FB well high, Rutschman chases with a big HR hack, misses, 1-1 Throw over Tries to hit the back door with a curve but it hangs outside, 2-1 Cutter in a bad spot, inside middle below the top, he turns on it and hammers down the right side, but it hooks foul, didn't miss a HR by much, 2-2 Lays off a slider down and in, 3-2. Pitchcount already climbing for Cole, 11 already. Cole holds the ball, then throws over late in the pitch clock. Henderson now free to run. Runner goes, Cole flies open again, and again misses outside with a FB by about a foot. Ball 4. 1st and 2nd, nobody out for Santander.

Cutter misses high on the inner 3rd, 1-0. FB misses inside at the top at 98, 2-0. Big slow curve winds up low inner 3rd, swung over, 2-1 Another curve dives just below the knees, outer 3rd, swung over again, 2-2 Has to start finishing hitters or its a very short night again. FB at or above the top at 98, Santander late and under, pops it well back of 3rd, Verdugo is there, but DJ calls him off and catches. Infield fly? Probably. 1 out, anyway.

O'Hearn tries to just a first pitch cutter just outside middle, just below the waist, misses late and under, pops it to short left, Verdugo comes in and toward the line, catches, 2 down.

Interestingly enough, the infield fly rule was not called on that little pop-up. If they planned it right, they could have let it drop and gotten an easy DP.

Westburg swings over a slider to the knees, near middle, 0-1 Chases a slider well out of the zone low/away, 0-2 Nelson sez: "you gotta stay with the slider" because he got two bad swings on the slider and Cole's having trouble commanding his fastball. Cole sez: FB inside corner at 98, jamming Westburg, gettiong a pop to short right. Torres goes back and catches, getting Cole out of the jam. Inning over.
Top 2, 0-0. Both teams with multiple RISP fails in the 1st. Cole needed 21 pitches to get through the 1st.
Volpe, Trevino and Davis in the 2nd for the Yanks.

Volpe... Takes a 92 FB on the inside corner above the waist, 0-1 Takes a curve well down an in. 1-1 Swings over a curve below the waist, inside corner. Opened up early again, trying to pull for power and missed it clean. Yayyyyyyyyy!! Change waist high away, lined through the open right side for a hit, and the ball gets away from Santander, Volpe keeps running and gets all the way to 3rd on the leadoff single/E-9!

I'm trying not to imagine Chapman in one of those. Rodon looks like he should be in a p*rn movie in them. And I thought Rodon's pitching was gross enough.

Is that Grisham playing right field for the O's?
