DJ... Takes a FB inside knee high, 1-0 Takes a slider well outside knee high, 2-0 Takes a slider dropping just inside middle, 2-1 Fouls off a slider near the low outside corner, 2-2 FB tails inside, DJ fouls it off. Takes a slider way outside and a bit low, 3-2.

Jacob Webb in to relieve Rodriguez. Volpe takes a sweeper outside near the knees, 1-0 Takes a meatball FB just below middle, 1-1 Fouls off a slider at the top of the zone, 1-2 Gets a break, Webb gives him a 1-2 FB above middle, but he fouls it off. Change tails to the high inside corner, fouled out of play back of home. Change down and in, pulled down the left side, but way foul. FB in the middle at the top, fouled back and to the right. Chases a sweeper going well low and away, barely gets a piece to stay alive. Change above the top, Volpe waits a bit too long, tries to inside-out it, and fouls it off. FB up and in ties him up a bit, so his fliner to center has no legs, and Cowser catches. 1 down. Armando Benitez is the Name That Yankee, I think. I think you're right. He's a great choice after the fireworks yesterday.

FB way high, near the corner inside, DJ leans back for ball 4. Man on 1st, two down for Verdugo, and Hyde takes out Webb to bring in a lefty, maybe Akin again.

Yeah, me too. To be fair, I doubt that Rodriguez meant to hang the change down the middle to Judge with 2 strikes. Torres takes a slider on the inner 3rd for a strike, waist high FB in almost the same spot is rifled down 1st into the corner for a 2 out double. Gleyber has such a pretty swing when he goes to RF. If he would only do it more often. I don't know how many times I said in the old chat and even here a few times: "I don't know if many people are aware how much better Torres is when he goes to right and right center". It became sort of a joke because I said it so often.

Waist high slider brushes the corner away, not called, 1-5% on Gameday Takes a FB in the zone low/away 1-1 And yes, this is Akin pitching for the O's Swings under a FB at the top, 1-2 Takes a slider bounced outside FB above and outside middle, he's late and under, fouling it off. FB near the top in the middle at 95, again late and under, as if he's set for the slider, fouls it off again. Takes his timeout.

We can add Anthony Volpe to that now as well.

Well, if he was setting for the slider, he sure didn't show it. Slider near the outside corner above the waist, and he's opening up and pulls off it for the K. Verdugo is way way off, late on fastballs and early on sliders. K, inning over.
Bottom 6, 6-1 Yanks.
O'Hearn, Westburg and Mountcastle in the 6th for the O's in what is almost certainly Gil's last inning, and he's at leat 50-50 not to get through it.

Volpe is lost at the plate. Earlier this year I watched each at bat intently. Now I try not to look…

Just checking in, I have the YES feed on the west coast. I just noticed that MLB.TV added it, so I switched over. Baltimore announcers were very good, however.

O'Hearn takes a meatball slider just inside middle; he won't take that again. Change well outside waist high, 1-1 Slider on the outer 3rd, again waist high, and he foul tips it. Slider at the knees, outside middle, and O'Hearn just misses late and under, flies out to deep left of center, easy play, 1 down.
