I just don’t get it. 33 pitches for Rodriguez in the first inning. Then Grisham swings at the doorstep pitch. And we let him off with a 4 pitch inning. We could have really worked him over…
To me that is coaching and management. The Yankees very seldom even give signs to hitters anymore. It's that mentality of "They're professionals. They know what they're doing."
It is not just the right of the person who speaks to be heard. It is the right of everyone in an audience to listen. Every time we silence someone, we make ourselves a prisoner of our own action, in that we deny ourselves the right to hear.
Freedom of speech is meaningless, unless it protects the freedom of the person who thinks differently.

Cowser... Takes a change down the middle, 0-1 Takes a change low, 1-1 Takes a change low but a bit higher, 2-1 Takes a change that's clearly a strike, but called ball 2, 60% on Gameday just below the top inside corner, 3-1 Misses a slider going inside thigh high, 3-2 Can't check on a back leg slider for the K, 2 down.

And Grisham usually takes a lot of pitches, but for some reason he wants to ambush in the second inning…

FB at the top of the zone outer 3rd, spoiled again. Tries to check on a waist high slider about 8-10 inches outside, can't, K, inning over. Seems to me that Gil has gotten more break on at least half his sliders since they change his pitching pattern against the Sox. I wonder if Blake worked on him to improve it after the 3 shellings he took.
Bottom 2, 4-0 Yanks. 15 pitch 1-2-3 for Gil in the 2nd, 35 pitches total.
Meant a lot more to the Yanks than given credit for by many.
He over performed for a while. He was also seemingly much better at 3rd that the metrics showed…
Great glove, above average arm, great on popups, solid to his right and on slow rollers, big range problems to his left. Very much like Derek Jeter, with whom the metrics were never kind.

Soto takes a change that gets a tiny piece of the corner away, 5% on Gameday, Soto doesn't get the Soto-call, 0-1 Takes a crushable FB above middle, 0-2 Takes a change low, 1-2 Change tails well outside and low, 2-2. Change bove middle, Soto takes a big swing, fouls it high out of play off 3rd, and Soto shakes his head at Rodriguez as if to say "I got that pitch, don't throw another there" Change misses low and the count goes full. But he doesn't got it, as Rodriguez throws another change just a bit above the one he fouled off, and he swings under it for the K, 1 down.

Judge takes a FB low, 1-0 Takes a slider knee high, but well outside, 2-0 Swings over a change going just low on the outer 3rd, 2-1 Takes his timeout Bounces a slider outside, taken, 3-1 Hangs a slider waist high, inner 3rd, lined over 3rd and into the corner in left for a 1 out double.
