Judge jammed by the sinker inside, inside outs it toward first, goes off the mitt of Parades and trickles into right for a hit. Soto to 2nd with 1 down.

First time in weeks that Verdugo ran hard to first, beats the DP attempt.

Verdugo takes a cutter into the top of the zone for strike 1 Gets a cutter on the corner inside, pulls it top Palacios, he gets the force at 2nd, but Alex beats the relay; 1st and 3rd with 2 down.

Kay just announced the 5-3 All Star win for the AL. That’s the first time I’ve heard the score… I thought it was an entertaining game, especially the first half.

I agree with Paul, I think Soto should have went to 3rd on Judge's single. May have cost a run.

Torres gets a sinker that missed inside by about two inches, called a strike anyway. Missed call puts him behind in the count against a pitcher he doesn't hit. Chases a curve outside, rolls it softly towards short, Walls charges fields and throws him out, inning over.
Top 2, 0-0. The flaw in going after Eflin's pitches early in the count because he "throws strikes all the time" is if you don't get his strikes, you wind up having a 10 pitch innings despite getting two hits, putting Cole right back out there.
J. Lowe, Siri and Rortvedt for the Rays in the first.

MLB should be embarrassed by the some of these violations.

Cole called for a pitch clock violation to start the inning.
1-0 on J. Lowe as he steps in. Yanks a FB down and in, 2-0 Flies open a bit and misses away with another FB, 3-0 FB down the middle, taken, 3-1 FB at the knees, outer 3rd, taken, 3-2 FB outer 3rd, up in the zone, Lowe misses late and under, flies to pretty deep left, Verdugo catches, 1 down.

Siri guesses FB on the 1st pitch, gets a cutter going out of the zone low/away, swing and a miss, 0-1 Takes a curve to the knees in the middle, 0-2 Good take on the same cutter as the first one, maybe a bit further outside, 1-2 So Cole gives him a cutter that doesn't miss away, but it drops below the outside corner, and Siri swings over that for the K, 2 down.

MLB should be embarrassed by the some of these violation. I didn’t even know they timed warm ups. I was like… how could he throw a pitch when the batter wasn’t in the box yet?…

Rortvedt gets a FB on the outer 3rd, a bit up in the zone, fouls it off, 0-1 Drops a curve waist high, but it just misses outside, Wells held the ball, but it missed by an inch or two away, 1-1. 0% on Gameday, too. Cutter misses the same little bit outside, but higher, and Cole comes in to argue, so Wells goes out to pull him away from home, and keep him from getting thrown out. FB above the outer 3rd at 97, chased and fouled off, 2-2 Back leg curve bounced inside, Rortvedt tries to check, but the 3rd base ump rings him up for the K. Side view concurs; Rortvedt went too far. Inning over.
Bottom 2, 0-0. 13 pitch 1-2-3 for Cole in the 2nd, 35 through 2.
Wells, Volpe and Grisham for the Yanks in their half of the 2nd inning.

MLB should be embarrassed by the some of these violation. I didn’t even know they timed warm ups. I was like… how could he throw a pitch when the batter wasn’t in the box yet… There's a running clock somewhere on the CF scoreboard in between innings but I've never paid attention to it when I've been at games. I guess Cole doesn't either.
