Nasty pitch by Cole to finish off his old catcher.

Soto apparently likes it less. So, I dunno. His (Judge’s) career batting line at DH is similar to his line at DH. He’s been amazing since he’s become primarily a CF… Did you mean DH and right field?

Takes a cutter well outside, 1-0 on Wells Curve starts outside, breaks onto the back door, taken, 1-1 FB well above the corner inside, 2-1 Cutter backs up outside again, 3-1 Dials up the FB to 93.2, on the corner away, Wells swings under, 3-2 Takes his timeout Misses about 6 inches outside, Rortvedt tries to pull it back, but no sale, ball 4. There's Eflin's walk for tonight. Man on 1st, nobody out for Volpe.

Someone should tell Kay Verdugo wasn't charged with an error on that play last Sunday that ended the game.

Takes a sinker missing inside by 3 inhes, called a strike anyway, bad call, 0-1 on Volpe. 0% on Gameday and not close. Sinker well inside, 1-1 Drops a curve into the zone up and in, taken, 1-2 Sinker just below the waist on the inside corern, jams him a bit, gets the hands in and muscles a line single to center. Wells stops at 2nd with nobody out.

For some reason, I thought the game started at 7:00 PM.

Eflin doing his best Catfish Hunter impression, just a perfect pitch.

Someone should tell Kay Verdugo wasn't charged with an error on that play last Sunday that ended the game. Yeah, I heard that mistake, too, but didn't have time to get back to it. Grisham takes a first pitch cutter on the inside corner 0-1 Cutter gets a tiny piece of the corner up and away, not called, 5-10% on Gameday, 1-1 Gets a big break on the call on a sinker on the low inside corner, 2-1. 50-60% on Gameday, 2-1 Fouls off a curve below the waist in the middle, 2-2 Humps up to 93.5 on a sinker, that winds up in a crushable spot, thigh high middle, but the good drop makes him top him foul. Cutter on the low outside corner, and you ain't getting THREE favorable calls against Eflin in one at bat, Grisham, taken for the ꓘ, likely crippling the rally.

Ugh, and the obligatory double play with two men on base.

LeMahieu takes a sinker below the top of the zone near middle, 0-1 Sinker down and in dribbled down the 3rd base line, rolls foul, 0-2 Gets a hanging sweeper above and inside middle, tries to turn on it, misses under, fouls it back. Missed an 0-2 cripple, DJ. And THAT is why I said Grisham's ꓘ likely crippled the rally... Waist high FB outer 3rd, grounded right to Palacios, and he starts an EASY 3-6-3 DP to get out of the jam.
They can't keep throwing DJ out there everyday much longer.
Top 3, 0-0
20 pitches for Eflin to the 2nd, 30 through 2 innings.
Caballero, Walls and back to the top for Palacios for the Rays in the 3rd.
