Well located double down and in, but still in the zone, swung over for the K, inning over.
And that's why he's got an ERA of 1.07 in his last 7 games people, 4 excellent pitches and enough command to make them work.

Cutter up and in, popped behind short, Volpe goes back, this has to turn to his right, and then Verdugo finally calls him off, gets set and catches. Far easier play for Verdugo and it ends the inning.

Wells moved to the cleanup spot! Boone must have been up this morning readings some suggestions from our board members. Day game after a night game, thought we might see Narveaz. I guess everyone is rested because of break. They could have DH'd Wells and allow Narveaz to finally make his major league debut. |
