...you think the Yankees should sign Gleyber to a long term deal after this season (guessing he will be loooking for a 4-6 years $80-100m) And not have a proven backup plan at 2nd base You're apparently hallucinating... never said either of those. You didint say much of anything ... have to read into it. Maybe Instead of making non commital unrealistic comments, you can explain yourself. Give a realistic scenario in which Gleyber is signed as a 3rd baseman and the Yankees have a proven 2nd baseman next season?

Hey! It was me that said I’d put Soto on the table. And I would. It would have to be a great payback, but we have holes to fill, men. Including RF if we traded him. I’m not saying it would be easy, and I would miss him…

Checked in to see them fall short. Very disappointing.
Very rough position with Soto if they drop out. He would commit to the team but you don't want to do anything to upset him.
Never forget Cashman went all in with no backup plan.

Ain't nobody got time for that...especially myself.

Supposedly Stanton will be back "soon", so that means sitting Gleyber. Should be interesting... Stanton is a least a week away, so sitting Torres wouldn't be a given. I doubt that the Yankees are going to re-sign Torres anyway, so maybe they trade him if they have faith that Jorbit can be their everyday 2Bman. Then again, why would anyone want Gleyber with the way he's playing and the fact he's a free agent after the season?

He’s a train wreck, isn’t he?… Gleyber's only driven in 35 runs this season, despite batting behind Soto and Judge who are always on base. That might be the most frustrating part of his bad season.

And he is not cheap. He has a $14 M deal so maybe a team acquiring him would be on the hook for $5 M. That is a lot of money for teams that don't play in New York,

Last year he only drove in 60-something, though there were few runners on most of the year. He’s becoming to anti-RBI… even when he hits…

Including RF if we traded him. I’m not saying it would be easy, and I would miss him… That idea was kicked around a bit way back on March. Check the posts from the 18th. One problem with doing that is that the Yankees have a ton of tickets sold and those fans are going to be angry. And of course the 2nd is that Cashman would come up with a handful of magic beans for him.

The Yankees are now multiple reports online that the Yankees are open to moving Spencer Jones for Corchet or Skubal... I guess Cashman feels this offense is just one good starter away from the World Series.

I guess Cashman feels this offense is just one good starter away from the World Series. I'm not as excited about Jones as I was in the beginning of the year. The high K rate and lack of improvement there is troubling. If you are going to move him getting a young controllable arm would be a nice return. Either of those guys would fit into plans beyond this year. I'm just afraid that too many other teams looking for SP have more to offer than we do. I still think Cash will add a bat but I don't see a lot of bats that are available that make sense and are difference makers. Even if he adds a bat some of the guys who are struggling or injured will need to contribute.

no cigar. HR ball bites us in the butt. gleyber's error led to a run and the usually reliable hill & weaver allowing HRs too much for our anemic offense to overcome. a couple base loaded opps early where some hard hit balls yielded nothing and too little too late. judge came close in the 9th but ultimately empty. while i think he needs some rehab starts, stanton's return important for this lineup. provides protection for judge and lengthens the lineup and hopefully takes some pressure off the other guys. 7-15 since he's been out. That was Cousins allowing the first of those two late HR’s, just for the record… yup i sit corrected. cousins has also been reliable so far.

If Cashman had the ability to recognize pitching talent Carlos Rodon would still be in the National League.
