Splitter outside, waist high, 2-1
FB outside near the splitter, 3-1
Drops a slider into the zone up and away, 3-2

Volpe has shown power over BA in the minors and last year. He should be hitting in the middle of the order, rather than trying to make him something he's not.

Holy crap !! I think the team is being drugged ... check the water cooler Those numbers are almost impossible for 3 MLB players in the same lineup Boone's response was to bench Torres. Wells takes a 1st pitch FB going low outside middle, 1-0 Splitter to the low inside corner, turns on it and pulls it foul, 1-1 Leaves the slider in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, and he drops the bat on it and gets happy, the fliner down the line settles into about the 5th row of the Porch for a solo HR, his 7th of the season, Yanks take a 1-0 lead! Grisham takes a splitter low.
Gets a FB above middle, and somehow grounds it to 2nd, where Lowe starts a 4-6-3 DP to get Littell out of the inning.
So much for competence.
Top 3, 2-0 Yanks.
16 pitches in the 2nd for Littell, 29 through 2.
DeLuca, Jackson, then back to the top for Rosario for the Rays in the 3rd.

Doesn't look like a lineup that will score many runs but you never know. I don't like Rice leading off and I don't like Wells in the 4 hole, but I don't think there are many better options. I just don't know who else you put there least wells has power Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
