Rice has never fcced Diekman, and that's bad news. Takes a FB thigh high in the middle, might have just taken the best pitch he'll get, 0-1 Takes a FB 3-4 inches inside, CALLED A STRIKE ANYWAY, TERRIBLE CALL, NOT EVEN CLOSE. 0% 0-2 FB misses just low/away, 1-2 Sweeper backs up and in, makes him duck, 2-2 FB in the zone thigh high, outside middle, but Rice misses, bouncing it foul Arrrgggg!!! Got a mistake sweeper thigh high in the middle, got on top and fouled it off 1st.

Yankee pitching was good in this game except Tonkin's pitch selection to McNeil which cost them 2 runs and the game.

Hope I'm wrong, but just doesn't feel like this team is going to go on a run.

This game was over when Boone rolled out that sludgefart lineup. Blown opportunity to claw within .5 of the O's.
On to the next one.

FB down and in ties him up, rolls over it to McNeil, throws him out easily, game over. Very deflating loss, Yanks had opportunities all night, but the wrong guy up in almost every spot. 1 for 9 with RISP, 11 men left on base. One bad fastball by Tonkin winds up deciding things and they blow ANOTHER chance to gain on the Orioles, who lost to the miserable Marlins, 6-3. Rays beat the Jays 4-2. Sox very likely to gain a game as well, up 6-0 in the 6th. It is Coors, so that's not certain, but if that score holds...
Yanks still 1 1/2 behind the O's, likely will be 4 1/2 up on the Sox, 8 up on the Rays and 13 1/2 up on the Jays.

This team isn’t going anywhere. Trading away prospects would accomplish what exactly?

I just wonder if any manger in baseball would have sandwiched Soto and Judge with J.A. Jones and J.D. Davis in a high profile game like this one other than Boone?
