Gil isn't finishing his pitches early, either the FB or slider.

Lindor... FB further outside at 97, 2-0 Slider on the inside corner, up in the zone, 2-1 Gets under a slider, misses high, 3-1 Swings over a good slider with a late break near middle, 3-2 Takes his timeout. Slider waist high, inside corner, pulled foul. Slider in the zone down and in, fouled. There's the big 2-plane back leg slider and Lindor swings over it for the K, 1 down.

Narvaez going to the slider 6 times in 8 pitches, but gets Lindor to K. Gil is going to have to go back to the FB to hopefully find it.

Yep! Got back late Thursday. We were over there for almost three weeks. Started out in Singapore visiting my brother-in-law, then to Bali, Thailand, and finished up in Hanoi. Quite an experience, but I have to say, I've never been built for that level of humidity. In Hanoi, it was flat-out oppressive. We arrived back in Omaha to temps in the low-80s the last several days, but we're heading back up to the mid-90s starting tomorrow. At least the humidity is lower. Thanks for the update! Yeah, it helps if you can deal with equatorial heat for sure. We loved Bali, just beautiful, and Hanoi really surprised me with being such a nice city. Of course everything is under control in Singapore. I remember them selling t-shirts that read "Singapore -- it's a fine city! Fine for littering, fine for chewing gum, fine for making noise" etc. Still worth visiting. Kudos for your adventurous trip! Singapore was really cool. It reminded me a lot of Seoul, where i spent a year while in the Air Force back in 2006/07; surprisingly westernized. Bali was the best climate-wise by far, and beautiful. We were in northern Thailand (Chiang Mai), and it was beautiful, too...but probably the "dirtiest" comparably. Hanoi is amazing aside from the insane heat/humidity, but could be overwhelming at times with all.the traffic/congestion. We made it to Ha Long Bay while there and that's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

FB hits the outside corner waist-high ot 99, 0-1 Change dives low on the outer half, 1-1 on Nimmo. Takes the slider down and in, 2-1. Excellent take by Nimmo. FB in the zone up and in, popped foul back of 3rd, LeMahieu goes back, faces it as it drifts back toward fair territory, catches in foul ground. 1 down.

Gil throws 2 FB and a change to Nimmo, as well as a couple of sliders. He looks like he's back on top of his pitches again, which is a good sign, even if the command isn't there early.

Martinez... Takes a change low, 1-0 Takes a slider low and outside, 2-0 Tries to check on a sharp breaking slide that finished just low/away, can't check in time, 2-1 Chases a slider going outside at the bottom, 2-2 Takes his timeout. Yanks the slider way low and away, too far out of the zone to chase. 3-2 Slider on the outside corner above the knees, taken for ꓘ. Martinez throws the bat away and starts for first, goes back to argue the call, but it was 40% on Gameday, so Martinez has no real case. Inning over.
Bottom 1, 0-0. Not only was it a 1-2-3 inning, but Gil came back from 2-0 down on the count twice to get K's with his newfangled slider. 18 pitches in the 1st for Gil.

Good job by Narvaez getting Gil through the first with his command not quite there. Hopefully he can get the command on track; maybe a little too strong with such a long time off.

In fact, Gil fell behind to all three Mets' hitters, and got all three anyway.
Jones leads off the 1st for the Yanks.

Fones takes a FB inside at 92. FB maybe clips the inside corner waist high, 1-1. Goes after a slow curve outside near the bottom, rolls it over to Vientos at 3rd, throws him out, bad at bat there. 1 down.
