Soto late on a hittable FB and another one of those swings hurts his wrist. He calls time and is back at it.

Soto takes a sinker into the top of the zone near middle, 0-1 Takes a FB well outside near the top, 1-1 Sinker just outside and below middle, misses late and under, fouling it back to the left, 1-2 Gets the Soto-call on the curve on the corner low/away because Torrens dropped it. 50-50 on Gameday, 2-2 FB outside corner below the waist, spoiled. Chases a slurve over of the zone low near the corner away, rolled over to Alonso at 1st, takes it to the bag, 2 down.

Judge takes a FB that barely misses inside near the top, close call, but probably right; 0% on Gameday by a hair. FB inaise brushes him back a bit, 2-0 Setting up a curve on the back door near the bottom of the zone, 2-1 Sinker outside near the bottom, 3-1 Curve for the backdoor stays 3-4 inches outside, ball 4. Man on 1st, 2 down for Davis.

Quintana trying to hit the corner on Judge. I must say, his command is pretty good, but Judge takes the walk.

I'd like to know whose cover of "Summer in the City" YES is using in its opener. They should have used the original since those guys were New York City natives.

With that AB, you should just DFA Davis now. Rice could've swung over three offspeed pitches just the same. That was a non-competitive AB.

Davis takes a FB inside above the waist, 1-0 Takes his timeout Guesses FB blindly, blindly waves at a curve that nearly bounced over home, 1-1 Same pitch, this time outer half instead of inner half, same result, 1-2 Why would he throw a FB or a sinker here? And he doesn't. Another curve aimed for the low outside corner, misses low/away a bit, but that doesn't prevent Davis' rusty rusty-gate swing for the K. Inning over.
Top 2, 0-0 18 pitches in the 1st for Quintana, matching Gil.
Alonso, Vientos and McNeil for the Mets in the 2nd.

Davis swings at 4 balls out of the zone. Boone has to be mentally imbalanced to put him clean up.

so we sit Rice for JD Davis? You weren't awed by the impressive breeze created by those three futile swings at curves out of the zone? Good evening, pres. (Hey, I got it right, even with both of you in the chat!!)

Quintana can go on autopilot for an inning plus now.

Thanks for the update! Yeah, it helps if you can deal with equatorial heat for sure. We loved Bali, just beautiful, and Hanoi really surprised me with being such a nice city. Of course everything is under control in Singapore. I remember them selling t-shirts that read "Singapore -- it's a fine city! Fine for littering, fine for chewing gum, fine for making noise" etc. Still worth visiting. Kudos for your adventurous trip! Singapore was really cool. It reminded me a lot of Seoul, where i spent a year while in the Air Force back in 2006/07; surprisingly westernized. Bali was the best climate-wise by far, and beautiful. We were in northern Thailand (Chiang Mai), and it was beautiful, too...but probably the "dirtiest" comparably. Hanoi is amazing aside from the insane heat/humidity, but could be overwhelming at times with all.the traffic/congestion. We made it to Ha Long Bay while there and that's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I won't clog up the game thread, but if you don't mind I'll ask you a few things about your trip over on the Miscellaneous thread at some point. I do agree I was amazed by Hao Long Bay and wondered why it isn't more famous. Nothing else like it. Hanoi was also a revelation. Actually very charming. Anyway to be continued later.
