Cabrera, Torres and Jones for the Yanks in the 9th, if anyone is paying attention. Doing some small home repair job, pulled myself away for somthing more exciting. I'm watching paint dry.

Well, that was ungood. With Verdugo, Rice and DJ having hitting about .180 or worse the last 10 days or so, there's just too many holes in the line-up. Terrible.

This team hasn't been good since Mid-May. Judge and Soto can only cover so much.

George is gone and we need to face it. Hal runs it like a business and not with emotion BUT the Yankees would never have gotten spanked by the Mets every game without repercussions. People like to forget that the Torre Dynasty Yankees only happened because George was suspended long enough for Stick and Buck to rebuild the organization. Please don;t buy into that nonsense. It isn't true. Look up the Yankee selections in the 1990 amateur draft and you'll get a good start on the truth.

Yanks get a day off tomorrow and then go to Fenway for 3 against the Sox whose troubles since the break might be over when the Yankees get there. Sox are 1-5 since the All-Star game after getting destroyed in Coors Field, 20-7.
Naturally, the Sox have lined up the 3 starters who normally shut the Yanks down. Misery upon misery, the Yanks have to do the usual Red Sox Saturday on FOX'sSmoltzShlitzShow and Sunday on ESPN'sCraptasticCast.
1st game is Friday evening at 7:10 on YES, and the good news is that it's likely to be O'Neill and Cone in the booth. Nestor Cortes has pitched 3 bad games out of 4, and has only one good road start this season. He's winless on the road this year, 0-5 with an ERA over 6.00 in 19 starts, and 4-9 on the season with an ERA of 3.99. Brayan Bello, pitched only good games against the Yanks until his last start against them, goes for Boston. He's 10-5 with an ERA of 5.27, but has been decent in his last 4 starts.
Game 2 is the echhhh...Fox Cast at 7:15 pm Saturday. Marcus Stroman will try to obscure his poor stuff with an array of junk deliveries and keep the Sox from running wild on him. He pitched a decent game last time against the Rays but still lost, and is now 7-5 on the season with a 3.51 ERA. Kutter Crawford starts for Boston; he's 6-8, 3.37 ERA on the season. That's 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA against the Yanks, and 4-8 with a 3.57 ERA against the rest of baseball.
Game 3 is the blechh...ESPNWeInterruptTheseUselessInterviewsToOccastionallyShowTheGameCast at 7:10 pm Sunday evening. Carlos Rodon tries to avoid getting humiliated early by the Sox for the 2nd straight time in Fenway. After his great game against the Rays on Monday, he's 10-7 on the year with a 4.42 ERA. Current ace Tanner Houck goes for Boston. He's been hit hard in 2 of his last 4 starts, but one of them was in Coors on Monday. His ERA has gone from 2.18 on the season to 2.71, still good for 4th in the AL, and his record is 8-6. His only other start against the Yanks was the rain delay at the Stadium in which he was sharp before, but couldn't find the zone after, and left after just 3 1/3 innings, having walked 4 and allowed 3 runs, 1 earned. That was the only game the Yanks won in that series, 5-3.
Series preview done, I'll check late notifications.

How it started: 50-22 How it's going: 10-22
I'm kinda of arriving at an existential crisis with this team. I don't know that there's really anyone out there that we can acquire that's going to realistically make this team a WS contender. There are so many holes, and I don't see a magic potion on the market that's going to mitigate a lineup with this many holes in it. Dominguez should be a non-starter in any trade talks. If Spencer Jones can get you a good SP with some team control, I think I'd be okay with patting with him. He's not showing any real progression down in AA and his K rate is alarming. Rodon shouldn't be in long term plans, and Nestor's future should be in the BP. Adding another top line starter helps now and in the future in that scenario. But do you empty, or at least serious damage the pipeline to try to bolster a team this flawed?
Boone needs to go, if for no other reason than to shake some things up. He's far from the only or biggest issue, but his decisions are hardly helping, and these fast starts followed by serious swoons are by now a well established trend with his teams.
Biggest problem IMO is the guy who is putting these rosters together. Cashman's well past his expiration date. I don't care about his front-loaded resume. The Yanks have one ring in the last 23 years. Anyone think Cash would still be here if we had a lucid George running things? Hal is one apple that fell far from the tree. This is a franchise that needs an overhaul from the front office down.

Can't argue with that. My philosophy is to kill "bad time" with "bad time". Like: when I was still teaching, I'd bring homework papers to the doctor's office and correct them while I waited to be taken in, or taken a stack of exams down to my building's laundry room to grade them while I did my washing and drying of my clothes. Always kill 'bad time" with "bad time" if you can.

Empty words. He needs to go. Yeah, pretty much. The begs the obvious follow-up question: And what will YOU do, MANAGER Boone, to get your players to play better? If you truly believe they're a title contender, then why are they playing like this? Is it YOU? And if you don't believe it, why are you (very bad word)ing everyone off by insisting that they are? Just to keep collecting your paycheck?

Unfortunately, anthony, unlike the others on that list, the Yanks have now had three of those in a row.
