Not a Stanton fan...never have been. But there's no question having him hit behind Judge will have a positive effect, regardless. Yep. He's not the player he once was, but he's still respected.

2 weeks Stanton will be on the IL again. Will that be a positive or a negative for you?

Blake tries to settle Cole down. Cuter in the middle, decent drop saves another howitzer blast, tops it foul, 0-1 FB inside corner, Taylor blocks it off with a choppy swing, hits a flare just over Torres into right center for a hit, run scores, 6-2 Mets. Some guys, even mediocre hitters, just own some pitchers, even great ones. See Tom Hutton vs. Tom Seaver. Yep, Hutton hit well vs Gibson and Jenkins too.
Backup Catcher Bob Uecker hit well vs Carlton, Drysdale, and Spahn.

Everyone is waiting for him to come back to protect Judge. He is not a gamer. He will go right back down within 2 weeks with quad, calf, or hammy. I want everyone prepared.

Stanton never fit on the Yankees and that deal should never have been made. But the guy has been nothing but class and did everything the Yankees asked of him. It says a lot about him that he tried to play LF to make the deal work. And when he got asked, he tried to change his body. Every mega deal eventually stinks. It will happen with Judge and Soto too if the Yankees keep him. And that is why I don't like the deals.
PS: It is not a Yankee development but anyone following the rehab of Mike Trout ? Maybe another cautionary tale ?

Just trying to understand your position. Putting your personal feelings aside...as the roster is presently constructed, do you feel it is a positive or negative to have Stanton in the lineup?

It’s worth noting that .500 baseball the rest of the way means an 89 win season. That’s pretty sad considering where they were at on pace for well over 100 wins. Yes, Stanton might help Judge but they’re still in the same boat with this crap lineup, crap bullpen and grossly overrated and inconsistent starting pitching.

It won't matter who we get at the trade deadline unless something changes in the clubhouse. Unless you have spent everyday in that clubhouse you have no way of knowing that. The manager, GM, and clubhouse seemed to be fine when the Yankees were the first team in MLB to win 50 games this season.

If Cashman trades Soto at the TDL he'll bring back Javier Baez for him. The Donaldson and Montas trades were bad, probably his worse trades. But he's been a pretty good GM.

This team is shot and needs to be rebuilt. Throwing more pieces into a dumpster fire at the deadline is a waste of time. It’s Judge and Soto with a bunch of guys who can’t hit. The bullpen has few good options and the starters are grossly inconsistent. Honestly, they’re a frustrating bore to watch for over a month now. A team with Cole, Soto and Judge that's only 1.5 games out of 1st place doesn't need to rebuild.

PS: It is not a Yankee development but anyone following the rehab of Mike Trout ? Maybe another cautionary tale ? It only lasted two innings. Every time I think about committing the ransom it will take to retain Soto I look at the career of the equally gifte MIke Trout. And I look at the issues he's had staying healthy even at relatively young ages.

Just trying to understand your position. Putting your personal feelings aside...as the roster is presently constructed, do you feel it is a positive or negative to have Stanton in the lineup? Stanton is a 100% negative and waste of a roster spot for someone that can play and try. We have zero depth and wasting a spot on him doesn't help.
If Stanton wants to help this team he can waive his no trade clause and go. Our Dynasty teams had a veteran guy that can come off the bench to PH and occasionally start a game. With DJL declining and playing multiple positions he could fill that role. We need a real 4th OF to give the guys a break to DH and have a real rotation.
I will never be sold on an injury prone DH that doesn't hustle.

OK...but that's not what I asked you. Care to try again?
