Instead of watching the game, I binged some “Gunsmoke” episodes. I still worry if Matt is going to die every time he gets sh*t in the arm. Like is there a fatal cumulative number of bullets to the arm? Plus without vowels you don’t know if he got sh*t in the arm or got sh*t in his arm. Infections are real, and they’re dangerous. I also worry how long it might take for Newly to turn into Oldie… It's estimated Matt was shot 56 times, knocked unconscious 29 times, stabbed 3 times, poisoned once. Remarkable he was able to last as long as he did. Considering all those incidents his 20+ year streak is more impressive than Cal Ripkens. Newly made an appearance on Yellowstone as Oldie. Talking about infections, one of the most interesting books I've ever read was by Candice Mallard titled "Destiny of the Republic". It was about the assassination of James Garfield and the attempt to save his life. He could have been saved but the doctors didn't understand about germs and their efforts to save him actually killed him. It is an interesting book and I highly recommend it. Those estimates all seem a bit low to me…

Hey Chi -- I guess this doesn't qualify as a Wrong Thread Alert since the game thread dissolved into a music thread as it sometimes does during lousy games. Anyway, Dave Loggins also wrote the music used as the theme for The Masters tournament. The peaceful stuff that's playing while Jim Nantz goes into maudlin mode about "a tradition unlike any other." I love The Masters -- it's one of my favorite sporting events -- but they lay it on a little thick at times. Kenny Loggins is a second cousin to Dave. I have several Dave Loggins albums and while he is most known for please come to Boston, he is more than a one hit wonder. I didn't know he wrote the Masters Theme. When I was a kid, I used to curse golf on television, taking up one of our three channels all weekend; however, I always had a soft spot for the Masters Championship, mostly because I like pimento cheese and that guitar music and ambient noise of golf and voice of Pat Summerall put me in a nice restful slumber.

I get zero MISERY from rooting for this team or having players on the team I dislike. Rooting for the Yankees is house money at 53. I've had the late 70s. I had the Dynasty. I had 2009. I'm good. I would much rather see my LONG SUFFERING Dolphins win a SB or the Devils win another cup.

and he didn't. can't remember many or even any instances when boone got credit when the team was doing well.
Didn't see anyone praising Boone when the Yanks were cruising to the best record in MLB.. That's because Yankee fans remember the collapse of 2022, which we're now watching a re-run of in the 2024 season.

I’d like to ask all to post their age. I’m 70… I don't mind sharing. I just turned 69 this month. Was born in 1955 and that is why my screen name is what it is as I like to tell people I was a Yankees fan from the day I was born.

I’d like to ask all to post their age. I’m 70… I hope I make 70. Me too, my friend. I also hope you make it to 70. As a 14 year old I figured I’d be good for about 57 years, so I’m on free time as we speak.. As a diabetic (type 2) I think 80 would be pretty close to my limit, but we shall see…
