Volpe... FB inside, 1-0 Slider up and in might be ball 2, but Volpe goes for it and fouls it off. Close to a strike anyway, 1-1 Same pitch, more or less, fouled back, 1-2 Wells goes too soon, Manaea tries the flat footed pick, throws it by Alonso to the Yankee dugout side, Wells to 2nd on the E-1. 2 outs, man on 2nd.

Manaea did a really good job pitching Judge there. Sometimes Judge can get his hands inside that pitch and still hit it out, but that's a really good location to pitch Judge.

Gleyber moves up to the leadoff spot and ruins a big inning by not getting on base for Soto and Judge.

FB up and away, 2-2 FB in the zone up and in, late and under, Volpe fouls it off the right side. Big slow sweeper almost down the middle, Volpe guesses wrong pitch type, is way out front, and whiffs trying to belt a longball, inning over.
Another low level RISP, and it's 1-0 Yanks, going top 2nd.
23 pitches in the 1st for Manaea. Alonso, Vientos, McNeil in the 2nd for the Mets.
Torres' 10th HR: 103.6 mph, 386 feet, 28° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 parks. I'd be guessing Camden Yards is the "no HR" park.

Alonso... Takes a 95 FB in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, 0-1 Fouls off a 95 FB above middle, 0-2 Takes a slider about a foot outside, waist high, 1-2 Slider misses well low and outside, 2-2 Cole hangs a cutter in the middle a bit below the top, but Alonso misses clean for the K, 1 down.

Vientos... Slider starts at him, bends into the zone up and in, 0-1 Same release point, but it's a curve that drops to waist high, inside corner, rolled over to Cabrera, fields and throws him out, 2 down.

McNeil... FB at the top, outside middle, a bit late and under, fouls it back to the left, 0-1 Takes a curve that clips a very tiny piece of the corenr away, not called. Maybe 5% on Gameday, so marginal. Bad FB just above middle, hit high to deep right, Soto gets back quick, turns to his right, then quickly back to his left as he leaps to the top of the wall and catches. Not sure that would've made it out, but the catch prevented at least a double. Inning over.
Bottom 2, 1-0 Yanks. 10 pitche 1-2-3 for Cole in the 2nd, 26 through 2.
Verdugo, Davis and LeMahieu for the Yanks in their half of the 2nd inning.

The Red Sox extended Cora for another 3 years, so everyone calling for him to replace Boone will have to find another option.

Verdugo... takes a FB near the inside corner, 0-1 Gets a break, FB hits the top of the zone in the middle, not called, 70-80% on Gameday, 1-1 Takes a meatball, a FB just below middle middle for strike 2 Takes a sweeper going way low and outside, 2-2 Gets a sweeper inside middle, is late and under, fly out to Taylor in left of center, 1 down.
