Good evening everyone! Just getting home in time to see yet another nine-hole hitter abuse Yankee pitching. At least it wasn't a walk.

Yankees give up another HR to a #9 hitter. Too bad we don’t have a thumbs down option. Not for the post, but for the situation…

Nimmo goes after a 1st pitch FB at the top in the middle, pops it foul off 3rd, Cabrera goes toward the Mets' dugout, catches, inning over.
Bottom 3, 1-1. 14 pitches for Cole in the 3rd, and 40 through 3. Cabrera, then back to the top for Torres and Soto for the Yanks in their 3rd inning.

For those of you who enjoy ESPN, my apologies, but I'd rather have a Yankees game broadcast by a high school's AV department. Please ESPN, just go away.

Yankees give up another HR to a #9 hitter. Taylor must see Cole very well, he's now 4-7 against him with a double and 2 HR.

Cabrera takes a sweeper down and in, 1-0 Chases a FB just above the zone, 1-1 Takes a FB that barely missed up and in, called strike 2 anyway, 0% on Gameday, missed by an inch. Takes his timeout. Takes a cutter that bounced over home, 2-2 Sinker to the high outside corner, spoiled Swweper on the back door low and away, fouled back. FB way high and a bit outside, doesn't chase that one, 3-2

FB at the top, in the middle, fouled off. Jams himself on a waist high FB, inner 3rd, pops to right, easy play for McNeil, 1 down.

Torres takes a sweeper down and in, started, but checks in time, 1-0. FB misses just up and in, 2-0 Sinker up in the zone, in the middle, takes a big HR hack, late and under, fouls it back and slightly to the right, 2-1 Same pitch, another swing late and under, pops to right, easy play for McNeil moving in and toward the line, 2 down. Stop trying to pull HRs, Gleyber. You're late and under almost every time you consciously TRY to do that.

Soto takes a sweeper that bounces near home, 1-0 FB above and inside middle, fouled. Late swing on a waist high FB, outside corner, fouled off the end of the bat, 1-2 Slider outer 3rd, below the waist, bounced foul near home. Poorly located FB above and outside middle middle, driven to deep left center, carries into the netting over Monument Park, solo HR; the Yanks strike back right away, re-take a 2-1 lead!!

Judge tries to match Soto, is late and under a 1st pitch cutter in the zone just below the waist, inside middle, is late and under, pops it toward the corner, McNeil goes over toward the stands, catches, inning over.
Top 4, 2-1 Yanks. 19 pitches in the 3rd for Manaea, 56 through 3.
Martinez, Alonso and Vientos for the Mets in the 4th. Both remaining East games are top 5 now, Marlins lead the O's, 3-0; Jays lead the Rays, 2-0.

Name some players you'd have NO problem not seeing on this team next year (ignore contracts). For me ...
Nestor (unless he goes back to the bullpen) Holmes Gomez Hill DJ Rizzo Stanton Hamilton Trevino
