We have 3 of the best players in the game and right now one of the worst teams in the league. Just pitiful. The problem is in todays bidding war for players, those three players leave little money for anyone else except scrubs! If we had a GM that got his head out of his A** and developed players instead of dumpster diving and trading for IL projects we wouldn't be in this mess.

I'm almost to the point of just saying "screw it", Re: the trade deadline, and just hold on to the prospects. One or two guys aren't going to be enough; this roster needs a massive overhaul. And long-term, is it better to just fully crater if it means maybe finally moving on from Cashman and, to a much lesser extent, Boone? I'm starting to think that's where I am. I have 0.0 faith in Cashman fixing this mess.

Yanks blow a 7-4 lead in the 7th with their two "best relievers" giving up 5 runs in the 7th and 8th, and unlike earlier with Nestor, there weren't any cheapies. All four hits the Sox got in the 7th and 8th were hammered: 106.4 on the Rafela HR, 99.6 on the Refsnyder single, 96.2 on Abreu's double and 107.5 on Yoshida's game winning single.
It ain't "bad luck" It aint "oh poor baby, getting 4 outs on 2 days' rest is too much to ask". It's not pitching good enough when it matters. Throwing the wrong pitch in the wrong spot to the wrong hitter, starting with doubling up on the FB to Rafaela, a dead-red hitter after you snuck one by him on 3-1. No business giving him a FB anywhere up in the zone, or even near the zone. Stupid, unclutch pitching. Bad brain-work, bad execution.

They just suck. No trade deadline move is changing that. Way too many holes.
DJ is shot. To the point that he should be released. Holmes sucks. To the point that he should be released. Rice hits three homers and then suddenly can’t hit anymore. Boone gets out managed regardless who’s in the other dugout. Cashman should resign in shame.

Should we do an over/under on when they fall <.500? Winner gets a DVD copy of "Pride of the Yankees"? Comeon now this is crazy talk. They've been hovering between 15-18 games over .500 for the last month. They aren't winning enough to gain much ground, but they're not losing enough to lose much ground either. Going under .500 when being 15 over is crazy. They would have to finish the season 20-37 for that to happen.

Barring a big turnaround, they really don't deserve to. I mean it's not like any of these teams around them are playing that well themselves.. Well, true enough, I guess. But I look at this line-up and I just don't see a playoff team. Multiple huge holes in the line-up and the bullpen is hot garbage. Maybe they'll turn it around, but I don't see it with the current roster.

Yanks continue to alternate games that they win but blow with embarrasing blowouts. Lose their 3rd straight and 23ed in 33 games to fall back to 15 games over .500 for the first time since Mid-May at 60-45. They were 49-21, .700 ball on June 13th, they're now down to .571, which if they stayed that way for the rest of the season, is 93 wins and a playoff spot But who believes they'll hang on? Maybe if they can call up Rodriguez, and get Stanton and Rizzo back, they might play better, but who knows? And the starting pitching is still bad at least half the games. And what the starters don't bury them in, the odds are better than even the bullpen will throw it away. I said this a few years ago, and it's just as true right now:
"Too many ways to lose; not enough ways to win."

Yanks blow a chance to gain on Baltimore, and drop another game to the Sox and Jays, but not the Rays, who lost 3-2 at home. Yanks are still 2 behind the O's, but the Sox are just 3 1/2 back again, and the Yanks got them out of their post-Break slump with a thrilling come from behind win. The Rays are 8 back, but their management sold off, so who knows how they'll react to that. Jays are 12 back of the Yanks now, they were 16 back at one point.

They need a rebuild. Incredible that they were the first to 50 wins. Injuries or not this is an epic collapse.

I'd like to think it's unlikely, but the way they've played over the last 6-7 weeks, I don't think it's as big of a longshot as it seems. If they get some reinforcements at the deadline, they are probably safe, but honestly look at this roster. It's Judge/Soto and a lot of roadkill. Even Cole has looked pretty bad so far. No consistent offense of any kind aside from 2 guys Bad starting pitching Terrible bullpen This is a bad baseball team. I suppose they could wake up and find some happy medium between 50-22 and the 10-23 calamity they've been since, but I'm not so sure they do.
