Should we do an over/under on when they fall <.500? Winner gets a DVD copy of "Pride of the Yankees"? Comeon now this is crazy talk. They've been hovering between 15-18 games over .500 for the last month. They aren't winning enough to gain much ground, but they're not losing enough to lose much ground either. Going under .500 when being 15 over is crazy. They would have to finish the season 20-37 for that to happen. They're just 11-24 in their last 35, so while I don't think they'll finish under .500, missing the playoffs is a possibility.

And now not only do we have to watch this avalanche gain momentum downhill, we have to watch it on FOX and then ESPN.
Game 2 tomorrow doesn't get easier, but harder. Yanks send out Marcus Stroman who only gets hitters out by chasing against a team that is filled with contact hitters, and who ran wild on him last time they faced him. Stroman is 7-5 on the season with a 3.51 ERA, and hasn't gone past 5 1/3 innings in any of his last 4 starts. And who are they facing? No problem, it's just Kutter Crawford, who's pitched great games both times he faced them this season, manhandling them last time out with 7 shutout innings of 4-hit baseball, doing his best Greg Maddux imitation, just 68 pitches in 7 innings. He's 6-8 on the season, with a 3.37 ERA because the Dodgers were able to somehow smash five home runs off this "Hall of Famer" in his last start. Ohtani, Teoscar and Freeman all got him, sure, but so did Jason Heyward and Gavin Lux. We'll see if the Yanks can do anything against him in his 3rd start in 6 weeks against them.
All right, I go stomping like a spoiled brat to check what notifications I have left.

I'm surprised the Yanks are fighting back here, but it's DJ. It's a tease... they just get your hopes up so they can rip your heart out... again! Yeah, I know it, Lola. I just have a hard time accepting all...this.

tonight seals the deal for closer at the TDL. 5th game during this run holmes cost us. wins are tough enough to get, can't keep giving them away. I can't seem to find the record but for a team that historically has been good at holding late inning leads I think theres at least 8 wins given away in the 8th inning or later this year? Curry said 55-3 when leading after 7 but something doesnt sound right there.. In Cleveland last game of series Vs Seattle first game of series In LA Angels 8th inning rally vs Clay Holmes In KC last game of series vs Baltimore Clay Holmes 10th inning loss vs Red Sox Clay holmes 2 strike hr In Baltimore with the terrible defensive plays before ASB Tonight

If the team is looking for Stanton to be their savior, just remember this guy needs about 2 months of playing time before he gets his timing to what it was before his injuries take place.

Since I'm a glutton for punishment I stayed up to watch Boone's presser. Nothing notable. Now I'm really off to bed.
See you guys tommorow!

OK, notifications have been checked and responded too, and I think I'll get going before I look foolish screaming and yelling about everything.
(too late!)
So, I'll see you guys tomorrow evening for the (Ugh) FOX game. Good night to all... As one of his sons asked of Noah during the rain...this has to end sometime, doesn't it? Noah replied: not yet, my son. Bye.

I'd like to think it's unlikely, but the way they've played over the last 6-7 weeks, I don't think it's as big of a longshot as it seems. If they get some reinforcements at the deadline, they are probably safe, but honestly look at this roster. It's Judge/Soto and a lot of roadkill. Even Cole has looked pretty bad so far. No consistent offense of any kind aside from 2 guys Bad starting pitching Terrible bullpen This is a bad baseball team. I suppose they could wake up and find some happy medium between 50-22 and the 10-23 calamity they've been since, but I'm not so sure they do. Yea this trade deadline is super important. We will see what they do and what others do, but right now none of these teams look unbeatable and the Yankees did almost sweep the Orioles just a couple weeks ago.
