yes judge a breathtaking HR 470 ft. 3-run yankees lead 6-4. Because of the bullpen failure, that late go ahead HR means nothing just like Rice's late go ahead HR a couple of weeks ago. But hey, overall at Triple A Neely is pitching well.

Hill of beans + Weave of destruction + Cardiac Clay = Another Yankees loss.

The Yankees go up by three runs. Hill then walks the first batter he faces in the bottom of that inning. Then Weaver kept pitching behind the RSox number 8 hitter. Cashman should promote Effross and Neely today. They can't be any worse than the current group in the Yankees bullpen. I think the two run HR Weaver gave up to Rafaela was the biggest moment in the game, it turned a 3 run lead into a 1 run game and changed everything.

We need to sell. Whatever we can. Maybe the Pirates think they can fix Holmes and will give the Yankees some prospects for him? The guy never was a closer, and now the Yankees think they can make him one! He's had his good days, but mostly bad days!

borderline call for strike 1 I don't know what technology said, but that ball looked below the knees, especially from the side angle replay.

If the team is looking for Stanton to be their savior, just remember this guy needs about 2 months of playing time before he gets his timing to what it was before his injuries take place. The guy is done, put a fork in him!

Cutter at 94 bending to the corner away near the top, Volpe pulls off it and misses, 0-1 Cutter waist high outside corner, and YOU SHOULD BE GOING TO RIGHT ON THAT ONE, fouls it off, 0-2 Cutter freaking right down the middle, he's late and under and lucky it got out of play behind 1st. Cutter on the outside corner up in the zone, he opens up early again and fouls it off. He'll never hit that pitch with that swing. Takes something off and goes with the slider low, outer 3rd, and he rolls over it to Rafaela, they get the force at 2nd, and the freefall continues. DAMIT!! IT'S NOT THAT MUCH TO ASK ON TWO DAY'S REST, CONEY!! THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET 9 OUTS BETWEEN THEM BUT THEY WERE BAD AND THE SOX SIMPLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF BAD PITCHES AND BEAT THEM!!Despite Judge's 3 run HR, Yanks were 2 for 7 with RISP, Sox were 4-12, and that's the differernce in the game. Sox had more threats, and cashed more in. Yeah really. I also don't care if Holmes is a sinkerball pitcher and he hasn't pitched much. Nothing should stop a sinkerball pitcher from throwing in the bullpen if he's too rested.

tonight seals the deal for closer at the TDL. 5th game during this run holmes cost us. wins are tough enough to get, can't keep giving them away. I can't seem to find the record but for a team that historically has been good at holding late inning leads I think theres at least 8 wins given away in the 8th inning or later this year? Curry said 55-3 when leading after 7 but something doesnt sound right there.. In Cleveland last game of series Vs Seattle first game of series In LA Angels 8th inning rally vs Clay Holmes In KC last game of series vs Baltimore Clay Holmes 10th inning loss vs Red Sox Clay holmes 2 strike hr In Baltimore with the terrible defensive plays before ASB Tonight Plus the games earlier in the season where the Yankees defense bailed him out.

I knew you'd get it, qwik. By the way, you do a great job holding down the fort here with your play by play each game. Much appreciated, thank you! As loss piles upon loss, it gets tougher day by day. It’s a lot more fun when they’re winning. But I’m trying to see this through as many games as I can for the rest of the season. I’m going to miss a couple with some personal stuff coming up in the next month or two, but I’ll let everyone know in advance. They need a Closer, either from Triple A or they should trade for one. Holmes should be pitching in the 7th or 8th innings.
