Hopefully what began as a demoralizing slide that started in Bahston has ended in Bahston! The series win could be just what they needed to get this team back on track! As always… an exciting time in Fenway!

The series finale is 12:35 pm on YES. Nestor Cortes faces another road game in a bad pitcher's park against a top lineup. The Mets knocked him around as well last time, dropping him to 4-9 on the season with a 4.13 ERA. Cortes is now 0-5 in 11 road starts with a 6.18 ERA. Cristofer Sanchez goes for the Phillies. He's 7-6 on the season with an ERA of 3.05, 5th in the NL and leads all of MLB in fewest HR per 9 innings at just 0.235. If the Yanks can beat both Houck and Sanchez without hitting any home runs, that'll be quite the feat. Series preview done, I'll check notifications. I believe Nestor last pitched on Friday in Boston not against the Mets but in either case he has been hit hard now for quite some time. Bruner, you are right. I should've double checked that and i didn't. The poor starts and bad losses blend into each other after so many, but that's no exuse, I should've checked. |
