Stubbs takes a FB outside, 1-0 Takes a curve that clips the high outside corner, not called, 2-0 Gets a makeup call on a FB that missed inside, 2-1. 0% on Gameday but...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Fb in the zone low/away Stubbs slaps a fliner to left, but Verdugo comes in and right to catch, 2 down, 1 to go.

3 straight wins and 2 in dominating fashion against good teams. Have we pulled out of the nosedive?

Gomez with two innings to give the bullpen some much needed rest from the Boston series.

Turner fouls off a FB in the zone low/away. Swings under a curve into the top of the zone, 0-2 Flails at a curve way outside for the K. Game over. Yanks break it open in the 5th, and win in a rout, 14-4, for a Lou Brown-level winning streak, moving back to 18-games over at 63-45. It's also the first time they've won 3 in a row since winning the first three games in KC as part of a 4-game win streak 6 1/2 weeks ago.

3 straight wins and 2 in dominating fashion against good teams. Have we pulled out of the nosedive? We'll see in the next two days against two more good pitchers, with the Yanks needing good ones from Cole and whoever pitches the 3rd game. But it's a long long long season, so it's possible.

Sox lead the M's 14-3 in the 8th at Fenway. O's Jays tied at 3 in the top of the 4th at Camden Yards. Yanks gain 1/2 game on the Rays, and either 1/2 game or a 1 1/2 games on the Jays, keep pace with the Sox, and either gain or lose a half-game to the O's.

Hopefully the Yanks were just saving up hits and runs the last 35 games for the stretch run. These last few games have been refreshing.

so much for the phillies ace. a reasonable start by gil. did have 8Ks in 5.1. maybe done in by soft contact and a DP not turned. will take it against this lineup.
gonna go w co-rotds in soto & judge w maybe soto having a slight edge because his double in the 5th opened up the 5-2 lead. chisholm an honorable. great games for volpe & rice. really everyone made contributions except stanton
